I really don't see the problem with being concerned about an opponent. I get it they're not Ohio St, Bama, etc., but they're also probably 1 of if not the most "dangerous" opponent we have left on the schedule. There's nothing wrong with being concerned about an opponent when you know that any loss ends the season.
I don't think anyone is advocating for disregarding Pitt or not taking them seriously, but if we play even 75% of our best game we should win, we're much better than Pitt. Of course they are dangerous and they can absolutely knock us off if we go in half cocked. I just think Narduzzi is going to talk shit like he always does and they might be ranked so I think Freeman and Co will have them ready to rock. I don't foresee total domination from open kick to closing whistle, but I think over the course of 4 quarters ND will pull away.

A&M 9, USC 10, Miami 11th in Kford, best three teams we've played. Pitt is 4th at 30th, eight spots ahead of 38th Arkansas.

Pitt's offense is 36th, the 5th best offense that we will have faced, Navy is ranked ahead of them as well. They are 27th defensively, the 3rd best rating on the schedule behind A&M and Miami. As long as they play their game, even if Pitt presents a bit of a challenge, there's no reason they shouldn't cover a 10+ point spread

On the other hand, we are the best team they've seen (and will see.) They've played two teams inside the top 50 of Kford, 27 Louisville (lost 34-27) and 23 Florida State (won 34-31.) They've beat up on some pretty bad teams. Will be their first really legitimate test of the season, and I'm going to call my shot here and say they aren't remotely prepared to deal with J Love, JD Price, CJ Carr and company.

Pitt might be in the top 20 with all the losses in front of them this week.

Can’t hurt our SOS

Surprised this one is on the acc network. How does one even get access to watch this game?

While I don’t doubt Pitt is a solid team, and certainly playing @Pitt is always challenging, I’m looking at their games and I’m not seeing anything that jumps out to me as scary.

Their QB has come in and played well, but he’ll also give the ball away. They seem to score and move the ball, but haven’t played a good defense. They play in a crap ACC conference, they give up plenty of points.

I’m seeing USC light? Not as good on offense but more physical on defense?

Carr has to learn, especially on third down, that he can’t get baited into going for the home run when the play shows someone is open for the first down. As soon as he starts taking what’s there, this offense will really take off and start putting up big numbers. Tom Brady made a career out of moving the chains over and over again. You could never get him out of that mindset. Carr needs a little of that in him to balance out the deep shots. I love that he’s aggressive and wants to push it downfield, but he has to know when to take those chances and when focus on keeping the drive alive.

Pitt is going to throw all kinds of looks at him trying to bait him into throwing deep. He just needs to stay patient, trust the system, and focus on getting first downs and staying ahead of the sticks.

I’m confident Notre Dame wins this one by two or three scores. And honestly, if we’re as good as we (or maybe just I) think we are and want to be taken seriously in the playoff race/respected nationally, then that’s exactly what should happen.

Stanford threw for over 300 yards on them had -10 rushing yards and 3 INT and still only lost by 15. Carr is gonna need to come ready to play

The Pitt QB is going to be very good but a true freshman against this defense is a very tough matchup for Pitt.

How is Pitt's interior DL? If they are good/great, this game will be tighter than many expect.

If the OL can handle Pitt's DL, this game will get away from the fighting Narduzzis.

Pittsburgh when they're good are usually tough to run the ball on. I would love Billy schrauth to be back in this one
