Whatever PTSD people are feeling about 1993 and 2002, that's on you and your therapist. Put it away.

Boston College is not good. Notre Dame is good. Saturday should be a pleasant day, but in the end, you have the day you deserve.
That had me cracking upšŸ˜‚

What a gross game this was

What a miserable game.

I was at that one. It wasn’t long after Weis blew out his knee and I remember watching him limp down the field to the tunnel at halftime, in the rain, alone, and knowing it was over for him (even if it took another year-plus to end).

I feel like the Hawaii Bowl win saved Charlie’s job for 2009.

1993 will go down as probably one of the top 5 worst days of my fanhood. Other 4 are Ohio St losses.

Although, the odds of us beating that Fla. St team again were not very high on a neutral field likely in Florida
Uh, 1993 is the worst for me. Pete Bercich is ND's Bill Buckner. I mean that respectfully and sympathetically. I wouldn't want to be either of those guys, fearing that every person I meet decades later might bring up the thing.

2002 BC. 14 year old me took all my ND stuff out of my bedroom and piled it in the garage for 24 hours. Couldn’t ever bring myself to burn it. Sacrilege.

What's amazing is how Willingham took a previously 5-6 team (under Davie) to eight straight victories, four over ranked teams, before turning into the Ty we all know and love.

Yup. His teams were as bipolar as they come. His final season they knock off two top 10 teams but couldn’t beat that mid to bad teams on the schedule. Golf must be less stressful.

BC's defense isn't good at anything. Pick your poison.

Their offense can play ball control pretty well with inside runs and short passing. QB Grayson James can run some. TB McDonald is a tough back who breaks tackles.Get them behind the chains and their screwed. Get a big lead and they have to eschew the ball control game and they are screwed. Avoid the slow start and we should roll.

You mean the guy who took UW Huskies to 0-11? That guy! Talk about being vindicated for canning a guy. He was also responsible for our 2007 season.

8 year old me went into the game like an ignorant child who doesn't know football should: Didn't understand the BC rivalry ('93), saw a top 5 ND team vs. an unranked opponent.

"We should kill them!"

Left with tears in my eyes. First real hurt as a young football fan lol

Noteworthy Black is clear. He was in concussion protocol for a worrisome amount of time.

Get Botelho and TE3 Matt Jeffrey too

Greathouse is transferring. There's no other explanation...and he's not a big loss.
It’s wild that he was far and above our best receiver last season and this year you have no argument to say he’s remotely close to the level of Fields, Faison and Pauling. He seems like a good guy but between the incoming CLASS and the underclassmen it really isn’t a loss.

That’ll be the assumption by fans but he may be open to resting as long as needed to ensure he’s 100% before returning & re-aggravating it. ND & Greathouse shouldn’t feel the need to rush it vs teams like BC. Hope that’s the case anyways.

FWIW NC State defense is not bad at stopping the run. They are 11th in Rush Success Rate Against. They’ve given up a good amount of explosive runs has been their issue. BC is 56th and has given up a normal amount of like 20+ yard runs but has been hammered by like 50+ runs
Still have to think BC loads the box. This should be a ā€œget rightā€ game for CJ Carr. He’s had two recent less than stellar games (BSU & SC). Coming off the bye, I’m hoping he can get back on track & Denbrock & the offense can get RZ issues solved.

So he was a "game time decision" like 3 weeks ago, he's been receiving treatment etc, and he's evidently going backwards.

I don’t understand why Greathouse wants to transfer when he had such big moments in the playoffs
To be fair if I were him, I'd be expecting more targets and a bigger role after the playoff production and performance. Before he was injured he had what, maybe 5 total targets on the year.

In today's world of WR, I'd be pissed if I were him. Who knows maybe he's not and this is all speculation.

Did we think Faison was transferring during last season?

Did we think Thomas was transferring in 2023?

He’s been out a few weeks. If he was transferring, he wouldn’t be on the team. Pull yourselves together lads

There are 3 options to me:

- He’s actually hurt and could return at any time once healthy.

- He got hurt, the 4 game thing was a coincidence and he is now redshirting to preserve a year of eligibility (and NIL) but plans to stay at ND and play in the CFP

- He was done after 4 games and wants to transfer

LOL

Guys I'm bored. Work has guest speakers all day and there's nothing else for me to do, but speculate or wet the bed according to some of you. Honestly, just innocent chatter on my part, but I can't speak for everybody else.
