We're going to miss Jack when he's moved on.
Transcript:
Agree. I watch a lot of sports on Peacock (track, EPL, Tour de France, etc…) and never have issues. Same with their programming. My extremely hot take is that I think Peacock is a fine streaming service.
My antenna reception can be spotty, so I used it for a few ND games last year, and had zero issues with buffering or picture quality. I've been watching EPL matches with no issue, and the catalog of content is surprisingly decent.
The interface for the home screen could be more responsive, especially for their bullet-point/highlighted content, but otherwise it's been fine.
The line for that job will stretch into Toledo when he leaves. There are so many ND alums holding AD positions all over the country, that pool alone will be deep. Then you have everyone else who will want a shot. Jack has done a great job, but I wouldn't have a moment's anxiety worrying they can't find someone who is equal or better. We're going to miss Jack when he's moved on.
Yes we will. I remember when he got hired. I was excited because I was familiar with all of his work in Indy working on the various sports committees that helped build Lucas Oil Stadium, Chairman of the Indians Sports Corp, relocated headquarters for USA Gymnastics and several Olympic sports, Pan Am games, Final Fours, etc. That experience paid off. It will be hard to find someone like him. We're going to miss Jack when he's moved on.
Equal, maybe. Better will be hard. The line for that job will stretch into Toledo when he leaves. There are so many ND alums holding AD positions all over the country, that pool alone will be deep. No it won't. That's the Catholic guilt and shame talking. Free yourself.Equal, maybe. Better will be hard.
I think you are greatly underestimating how great of an AD for ND Jack has been.No it won't. That's the Catholic guilt and shame talking. Free yourself.
You can have nice things and you can have better things. For once, this fanbase shouldn't be afraid that something better can happen when an individual leaves the program.
Jack has done a tremendous job navigating what the landscape has been during his tenure. As the dust settles into what comes next, someone else will have the athletic administrative skills and ability to lead the university into the new phase/era.

I realize he's been great. His eventual departure, however, is an opportunity for them to bring in someone equal or better to continue the job. If some of you think he's not replaceable, that's fine. I don't believe that to be the case.I think you are greatly underestimating how great of an AD for ND Jack has been.
All the other ADs & conference commissioners praise him & how great he is. In 2020 they all looked at him for guidance. During the playoff expansion process there were the P5 conference representatives (one each) & Jack.
He is just really savvy, sees things way ahead of time, & always finds way to benefit ND no matter how much others try to stop him.
He is a unique combination of cutthroat, while still having the integrity needed to be at ND.
When this whole cluster-eff shakes out, watch, ND will be rolling in the dough, with even more power, while still being independent…all by Jack just sitting back & letting all the other ADs devour each other.
He’s genius.
It's a little bit apples and oranges. The B1G values getting thrown around are media revenues for all sports (save OOC away games which are pretty marginal, I think) whereas for ND these numbers are solely their home football broadcast values. It doesn't include their share of away game media rights revenues or for sports besides football.$60 million a year won’t keep pace with the B1G and SEC media contracts. I wonder if this is a temporary solution until we are closer to the end of the ACC GOR timeline?
If ND will now schedule more B1G teams and you add that to playing 5 ACC games a year, that isn’t really an independent schedule. It’s more like a hybrid ACC/B1G schedule without the benefit of conference championships and in the case of the B1G, less revenue.
Is this just the next step to eventually joining the B1G?
nah, fuck em. I hate those fans and don't want to deal with them. I'd rather play Sparty.Bring on Michigan. That's the only rivalry game that stirs up a huge amount of emotion. The USC rivalry does almost nothing for me as it's been so one sided (through the recent years). I miss the days of playing Michigan and the extra adrenaline of watching that game.
They were more than happy to do it. It was like the hot girl agreeing to go to the prom with you even though you knew she wasn't going to let it go any farther.Interesting that NBC wants more higher rated ND games to justify paying ND more money. The ACC games for ND aren’t as highly watched as ND vs. B1G games.
I would love to see ND in the B1G, personally. I don’t think ND needs the B1G and I don’t think the B1G needs ND. I do think it would be mutually beneficial though.
One things for certain….kudos to ND for getting the ACC to give your Olympic sports a home. You got the far better deal out of that one. They even let you play an ACC schedule during the 2020 football season no strings attached. You can pretty much have your cake and eat it too with that type of deal.
The only bad thing about the deal is the TV ratings vs. ACC teams aren’t as high as they would be playing B1G teams, which has an impact on your media rights contract.

Idk, seeing ND finally beat SC in 2010 felt pretty goodBring on Michigan. That's the only rivalry game that stirs up a huge amount of emotion. The term "rivalry" confuses a lot of different types of relationships. ND has one rival (USC), one friend (Navy) and one enemy (Michigan).Bring on Michigan. Does it really help them if it adds another guaranteed loss to their schedule? The term "rivalry" confuses a lot of different types of relationships. ND has one rival (USC), one friend (Navy) and one enemy (Michigan).
Giving aid and comfort to an enemy of the US is treason, which is a capital offense. For a program like ND, doing anything that helps Michigan, including scheduling them, is madness.
How is it helping them if we believe that we will beat them. I would prefer to schedule my enemy and then pound their ass.The term "rivalry" confuses a lot of different types of relationships. ND has one rival (USC), one friend (Navy) and one enemy (Michigan).

Yes, it helps them. We bring millions of eye-balls to every game we play. A spot on our schedule has significant value, even for a team like Tennessee State whom we're virtually guaranteed to annihilate. I'd sooner play any of the other 130 FBS teams than the skunkbears. How is it helping them if we believe that we will beat them. I would prefer to schedule my enemy and then pound their ass.

Is Monkeypox a joke to you?How is it helping them if we believe that we will beat them. I would prefer to schedule my enemy and then pound their ass.
I wish this was a Political Forum so I could respond in any way I see fit since I got my big boy underwear on today. Is Monkeypox a joke to you?
