Interesting second destination. I would think bigger programs would be in play here

I dont see ND passing. If anything he would probably be the one passing. You’d think him having another visit lined up means ND is passing on him?

One really odd way I've found to figure out who ND is likely going after and possibly landing is looking at Riley Leonard's recent follows on IG.
Weird, yes. But it's no shock that 99% of them are ND guys. So yeah, he's pretty much a lock at this point.
He's also followed a few prominent names in the transfer portal. Kris Mitchell obviously. But he also followed Beaux Collins, CJ Daniels from Liberty but also, he recently followed Juice Wells from South Carolina.
Sounds to me like ND has a pool of grad transfers and they're looking to load up on them. I wouldn't be surprised if they try and nab 2 from the group of Collins, Daniels, Wells and Kelly.
We’ve got a combo here.II podcast they said the targets were 2WR, 2DB, 1QB, 1DE, 1OT
Loy - name to know is Vandy's Nate Clifton. In 2023, Clifton had 30 tackles, 5.5 sacks and an INT.
My observation - everyone we've targeted is a Captain. Kris Mitchel, Riley Leonard, Josh Kelly, Jordan Clark. I'm unsure about Beaux Collins.

That's wild. A good sign, and an advantage of the grad transfer route (also a sign of the times that all these captains, who presumably would be captains on their teams again next year, are moving on.)Loy - name to know is Vandy's Nate Clifton. In 2023, Clifton had 30 tackles, 5.5 sacks and an INT.

Blue Chips style, but without all the illegal stuffNow... Hear me out.
(I know that's cliche, but seriously)
I'm sure I'm not alone in literally dreaming that one day... we'd have someone who can convince enough people that being a part of ND football to make one real run at the Ship. Like make them believe and see what kind of legacy it would leave.
That's all it would take. Just one real honest go at it. But someone, maybe MF is the guy?
Maybe... just maybe... this is it. A big time defense along with a bunch of hired guns on offense with the hard nose thing weve always had? Maybe?
Maybe the portal has allowed ND to erect another statue sooner than later?
I've lived a long life. I wanna see one more natty.

Loy - the bulk of Josh Kelly's visit will be today. He got in late last night (after 7pm).
I'm impressed. I haven't been in every thread, but I've noticed some of your recent posts are providing more substance than bitching.Loy - name to know is Vandy's Nate Clifton. In 2023, Clifton had 30 tackles, 5.5 sacks and an INT.

Wait until the new coaches & new transfers don’t make a mistake.I'm impressed. I haven't been in every thread, but I've noticed some of your recent posts are providing more substance than bitching.
Getting the victory in the Sun Bowl is a bigger deal than we're probably giving it credit for. Getting that 10th win is a factor, going into 2024 on a program winning streak, getting some younger guys real reps against Oregon State as a prelude to spring ball. I think everyone felt pretty damn good after beating South Carolina in last year's bowl. This is the process and Notre Dame has positioned itself to be a strong player. It's even more imperative that ND capitalize on these investments to convince the donors this is a fruitful venture. We really need a strong season that can give Marcus even more firepower on the recruiting trail.
But love the recent surge ND is making in this domain.

Multiple Ivy League offers out of HS. If ND pursues him hopefully they push academics.Auburn and Washington are on him

Agreed. Fuck perception. I want 10 winsGetting the victory in the Sun Bowl is a bigger deal than we're probably giving it credit for. A 10 win season for Marcus in year two is a positive building block to cement into the foundation. I know some may not feel that way, but that's probably the minority both on this board and abroad.

This is where I'm at. Will this season be looked back at as a disappointment? Sure. But imo, this is where nd fans should be when a 10 win season is disappointing. If we're a real player in the portal this year and beyond, down seasons should all but be eliminated, barring horrible luck with injuries at key positions.Getting the victory in the Sun Bowl is a bigger deal than we're probably giving it credit for.
