Isn’t this the second coach MF poached from Fickell with a demotion in title?

I mentioned in the Freeman thread that the Stuckey firing and subsequent WR exodus may be his extinction event. It's not killing him today, but it's going to lead to some bad seasons in the future.
Would you still feel that way if they keep the current commits, sign Kris Mitchell and one or two other productive portal WRs this cycle and receuit the position well for next cycle?

Beginning of the end?
How do we know that?

Look at Kelly brining his old friend back at OC... How has that worked?

Is it sexy? Maybe not, but could it be an improvement? Possibly. Have to let it play out. It's ok to be cautious and skeptical but you still have to see how it plays out.

I think it might be the beginning of the end for the entire Midwestern United States, perhaps western civilization. We won't know for sure for another 150 years.

You guys are so dramatic.
Well I downplayed the Parker hire but the board might have been right there.

I like the hire. Played QB/WR in college. Made it to the NFL. Coached RBs for a couple of years. Has perspective from the QB/RB/WR positions. As WR coach, had passing game coordinator duties added and was named an associate head coach. I don’t care that it was under Fickell. Still impressive for a young coach.

Time will tell if it’s the right hire but I’m good with this one.

Lmao at all the WR Coach experts - envisioning some of you with Excel files of your own position coach rankings. Mel Kipers of position coaches.

Why the hell would Hartline leave his Alma Mater? Like come on, I’m sure this hire is fine. It’s mostly a recruiting job.

Cincy’s 247 guy posted this:

I know you some of you don't want to hear it, but here is my perspective. Brown was a massive boost to the Cincinnati staff when he was hired. The WR room was a disaster in Fickel's first two seasons, and it was pretty much completely gutted upon Brown's arrival. Pierce, Scott and Tucker all showed steady and consistent improvement under him as well. In college he was an All American at both WR and QB so he has a very strong understanding of an offensive system and his guys loved playing for him. The guy knows what he's doing.

Did you know our coaches and players have their own internal ranking of the coaches?

Fans with their rankings isn't so far fetched now!

Looks like we're not going to shed any WR recruits and they seem to really like the guy. Hit up the transfers out and see if there's any interest in getting out of the portal. Next calls should be to all of the WR Transfer portal targets. I just went outside for the first time in three months so nobody in this board has to, and I can assure everyone that the sky is still there, not falling.

Since Brown played college ball at Liberty, does that give us a boost with CJ Daniels?

247 says he is a “rising star” in the coaching world so I’m gonna open a beer and just pretend he’s going to be an offensive version of Mickens based on no evidence at all.
This is the best post and exactly what I was thinking. I'm excited for a change and hope he can bring energy (and transfers) to the room!

I'm not going to pretend that I know everything about him, but based on what I've read this seems like a "meh" hire. Wisconsin fans don't seem to be terribly upset over this, which isn't good.
That’s because Wiscy fans don’t even know what a pass is.

It’s not FB, but Nobody knew who Brad Stevens or Frank Vogel were. They had less experience when hired as HC and they turned out okay.
