I have routinely throughout the day kept thinking yesterday was a dream. Legit lost sleep over it and ruined my Sunday. I need a legit hobby that doesn't include football
The '1' is the Irish.............. looking for the 'Bright Side'.....On the bright side NIU is 1 - 15 all time against AP top 10 opponents…
Same, the one thing that helped me was having kids. Can’t act like a lunatic with my two booger eaters watching meI have routinely throughout the day kept thinking yesterday was a dream. Legit lost sleep over it and ruined my Sunday. I need a legit hobby that doesn't include football
Your just bottling up all that energy. Make sure you release it at the correct timeI was in attendance and was beyond pissed when we lost. It usually ruins my weekend. I looked at my family that I took to the game and realized what was more important than the game. We had such a blast all day up till the end of the game. I didn’t want the outcome to take away from the great day we all had. So I calmed myself down and had a good rest of the night. Very unlike me but it could be I’m maturing in my late 40’s.
I don’t think so. I realized this team is brutal right now and not letting it rule my weekend emotions in the fall. HahaYour just bottling up all that energy. Make sure you release it at the correct time
Hand to God, and I feel like everyone who was at the game will back me up on this, they clearly called timeout right after that rush and the ref signaled it. I dunno if the broadcast missed it in the review or what.Seriously?
There was a whole article in The Athletic about the calls we got at the end and the timeout in particular. That douchey NIU fan showed up here asking about them. But it was correct on the field?
NBC was way off on down-and-distance several times yesterday as well. Nice to know we’re getting their A team…
He shouldn’t be considering how badly he got pushed around IMO.Burnham got 53 snaps yesterday vs Oden who got 11 so is Burnham
The starter?
Went with my girlfriend for her first ever big football game (she went to small private school with no big sports)… luckily I kept my cool. Younger me would have lost his shit and made an ass of myself. I was still pretty speechless after the game and decided we should go to a dorm mass (something I never did as an undergrad). Great pro tip for anyone who is in person for a game that’s disastrous and you need time to shut up and processI was in attendance and was beyond pissed when we lost. It usually ruins my weekend. I was there and yes all of this should have taken the TO during injury time. I was yelling "Freeman, tell the ref you want the TO and not the run off."Hand to God, and I feel like everyone who was at the game will back me up on this, they clearly called timeout right after that rush and the ref signaled it. The big debate in the stands was that Freeman let the clock run after second down… and then they announced a 10 second run off for injured player, AND another 40 seconds of clock wind… and people were like “you absolutely should’ve taken your timeout there wtf”…
The blunder was that they should’ve gotten the ball back with like 50 seconds or so if they had taken their timeout earlier NOT that they ended the game with a timeout in their pocket.
Exactly!! I feel like Freeman is getting a pass on this, when it's the single biggest decision to cost him... they would've had a minimum of 15 seconds at the end of the game (and likely more) when they opted to kick the field goal.I was there and yes all of this should have taken the TO during injury time. I was yelling "Freeman, tell the ref you want the TO and not the run off."
plus didn’t he leave game w/ an undisclosed injury? He shouldn’t be considering how badly he got pushed around IMO.
Why would he regret doing a couple of physical practices?Freeman better regret putting his team through a gauntlet of physical practices on Tue/Wed of last week. More importantly, he better learn from it. I don’t know if this is advice from his mentor, Tressell or he just took Tressel’s advice about avoiding complacency & used the wrong remedy. That’s the only way to explain the Jekyll & Hyde from aTm to NIU in a span of one week.
Unfortunately, if he doesn’t get the message & self-correct; he will have damaged his team’s psyche to the point of paralysis by analysis. They’ll have more games vs lesser opponents w/ the thought of “here we go again”. I’d love to have been a fly on the wall if/when the coaches discussed the practice schedule after the 4 am flight from aTm. Did Golden, Denbrock, Washington, McCullough & others just passively agree that it was a good idea to keep the foot on the pedal after such a physically & mentally draining game?
Kind of pointless during the season and could have impacted recovery time particularly after a slugfest like A&M.Why would he regret doing a couple of physical practices?
They got in from aTm at four in the morning on Sunday and the staff gave no thought to focusing on rest & healing after a physically/mentally draining game? I would ask the same question you did but the more I”ve read from beat writers this doesn’t make sense considering their packed schedule. Does this happen every week during the season? Evidently, they went balls to the wall. Here’s his quote:Why would he regret doing a couple of physical practices?
"We pushed them," said Freeman Thursday. "We had really good Tuesday and Wednesday practices. Long, physical, tough…Sometimes getting back here at four in the morning and a lack of sleep at times can have a trickle(-down) effect but we couldn't let up. We pushed them hard.
"I told the coaches, 'We can't pull off the gas pedal.' (The players) were probably wondering if we were going to pull back because we had a big win. They knew right away we doubled down."

If the two QBs are Steve and Minchey, right? Right? After two game, I think we can honestly say Leonard is not a good passer. I've never been for a team using two QB's, but I'm of the mind that MF and Denbrock should look at this option.
Leonard and Angeli. Leonard has shown he's a threat with his feet. Just need someone some accuracy in the passing game.If the two QBs are Steve and Minchey, right? Right?
I truly don't want to see RL on the field again. Nice enough kid. Not the guy. Hope he enjoys the $.
You can still have a great time with your family and know that this game was unacceptable, that freeman isn’t the guy, that ND football is a good team but nothing more.
The campus is beautiful and the sights to see are breathtaking. So hopefully that’ll be an image you remember for a lifetime.
You're not missing anything...stuffed runs and 5 yard dump offs...and a defense that made a MAC RB look like Reggie Bush and their OL look like Georgia.I still have not seen a down of the game yet. I doubt I'll watch it. I was at my daughter's soccer game.
IDK, disappointed but not terribly surprised. Far more disappointed than anything.
All the talking heads chalking them up to 12-0 after TAMU could not have helped matters any. That's tough noise to block out.
I agree, but they were all picking Georgia or whomever to win the natty, too. (Georgia wins these games.) I'm hoping the coaches worked to keep the noise out but I'm not sure. The team looked unprepared and shellshocked, especially the lines.I still have not seen a down of the game yet. I doubt I'll watch it. I was at my daughter's soccer game.

See that's what drives me crazy. OBVIOUSLY UGA wins these games....But they could score 100 on them if they truly wanted too. That's the difference, It's not a matter of if for some of these big time programs. It's a matter of how disrespectful do they want to be. Clemson could have easily hung 100 on App St coming off an absolute beat down. ND hasn't had that type of swag since maybe the 40s. Real talk, when was the last time any of us can remember ND being able to score at will even against low level opponents? UGA or OSU would have beat NIU 60+ to 10I agree, but they were all picking Georgia or whomever to win the natty, too. (Georgia wins these games.) Yet it was only 16-14.You're not missing anything...stuffed runs and 5 yard dump offs...and a defense that made a MAC RB look like Reggie Bush and their OL look like Georgia.
