Notre Dames margin for error is so small that they can't even sleep walk after a big win against a team like NIU.

And that in itself is concerning.

Ridiculous to says we are eliminated from hosting. Too much football to play. Agree we are way ahead of ourselves and need to focus on not sucking today to avoid sucking tomorrow.
If you want to go w/ the “Dumb & Dumber” GIF of “So you’re saying there’s a chance…” then I agree. Otherwise MF-coached teams haven’t won five games in a row yet now they have to win 10 in a row. Not impossible…but based on 2022-today…highly improbable.

If we we can't win five in a row we were never gonna host - or probably make the playoffs at all - to begin with.

I am over it now just a season that is slightly deflated like a Tom Brady football. Probably will not be as likely to get up at 4am to watch games.

I have an interesting question, if ND and NIU were to play again, who would win??
I like to think we would run an offense that plays to our strengths instead of taking the win for granted and trying to test out our downfield passing game, and would win handily.

True but after the aTm win in College Station, isn’t it fair to say that it looked like MF had finally kicked off the training wheels of being a first time HC & would take what he learned from the Marshall & Stanford losses to navigate a very manageable schedule? Now that he’s proved he hasn’t done that, you can only go by how he’s trending & the trend is that he’s failed to have this team consistently win for two years and after last week that trend looks to continue.

I’d be ashamed to show myself on the practice field. I’m sure he has had to watch film all week and see over and over how he single handedly made Marcus, Denbrock, the team and fan base look like shit. Can remember someone playing this bad. I’ll be shocked if he comes out and looks great. Hope he is out before halftime. Would love to see Angeli light it up and in the media we can hang the NIU loss entirely on his left shoulder.

If football coaches watched more cricket they would coach the players up to be prepared to do this.
Out fielders in (elite) cricket do it a lot. Take the catch but throw to another fielder who completes the catch while original fielder is on way to what would be “out of bounds”.

I know he’s trying to prop up MF & staff but damn…

It's actually kind of lame that he's chalking this up to "good coaching". That was pure instinct, awareness, and athleticism.
