Winner of Kings vs Hawks game 6 takes the whole Cup!

That's right Rangers fans!

Yep Kings fans even though you won game 2 and barely lost game 5 and won 2 other road game 7s I am saying this no way in hell the Kings win a game 7 in Chicago.

I'm putting the pressure on everyone right now since it is on the Hawks anyway saying game 6 is do or die baby! Stanley Cup is on the line!

I've been very civilized and respectful since the Blues series but the crazy guy is back! A dog that is wounded is often the most dangerous.

While I'm at it I love the horse but California Chrome doesn't have a rats chance at winning the triple crown.

If Hawks can sneak out a W on Friday, which is a big if, I don't see any way they lose a game 7. It is going to take a major effort from the Hawks stars to get to that point though. I've been very unimpressed by Hossa, Sharp, Keith, Seabrook, Crawford, and Toews (only last couple games) in this series. Saad, Kaner, and Shaw all brought their A+ game tonight. Would also love to see Morin and Regin out there instead of Versteeg and Bollig, both seemed to be a liability tonight.

Chicago's defense has been off the entire playoffs. They seemed to be chasing every team they play. Up until now Crawford has been a brick wall, so it didn't matter.

Friday night is huge (obviously)!

Agreed totally. I thought Seabrook in particular has been a step slow at times, especially covering the net (but he's good offensively, so I'd guess he still has a solid +/- rating). Crawford was playing so well that it didn't matter, but he has been human in this series.

What a great game to watch though. I caught myself gripping the remote so hard my knuckles were white.

Having Shaw back is just huge for the Hawks. He was all over the ice last night. And his energy is contagious...the Kings had no answer for that Kane/Shaw/Saad line.

Hawks defensemen were pinching hard last night and were forced to chase on the Kings counter. Carter has been a nightmare to defend. They're consistently taking more chances on offense so I have to imagine it's being done by design.

Also I have now officially seen all my teams make the championship round. I was only 6 in 1994 so I don't remember that.

Well you have to be careful with this. Camera angles actually play a big role into how we perceive teams from the west as much faster and bigger than the east. Chicago and L.A. cameras are much closer to ice level than Montreal and N.Y, which creates a little bit of an illusion. MSG is particularly far. I would say that the Rangers is probably the fastest team left in the playoffs. That said, I would agree that the Kings and the Blackhawks should be favourites to win it all. They both have super teams. To me, Montreal never really had a chance. The Rangers on the other side are an interesting team. It is filled with superstar players that do not produce as much as they should be(but can go off at any time), and a lot of very fast young players that produces a lot. Add that with a super goalie. It should be interesting.

This 2014 Rangers team reminds me more of our 1979 team than the 1994 team.

Feel good for NY... but it'll be difficult for them to beat either Chi or LA in the finals imo...

Henrik will have to stand on his head at absolute least.

Totally agree with that analysis. You just never know what you are going to get with the Rangers. Nobody expected them to get this far in the playoffs, but they got hot at the right time, and they are reaaaallly tough to stop when they are at their best. But if they aren't jelling on a given night, they might be so-so.

The Rangers are jelling but so are the Kings. Assuming both teams stay hot, I'd take the Kings talent over the Rangers, and I'd give a slight edge to Quick in net.

Hawks are playing like shit, but if by some miracle they win this series, it would be hard to bet against them in the cup final. They have more talent than the Rangers.

More good points. The Kings have a lot of young talent, in addition to their established talent, that has really been delivering lately. They are just firing on all cylinders.

I suppose, based on Game 5, you might say that about the Hawks too though. If Saad and Shaw continue to play like they played two nights ago, the Hawks will be awfully dangerous. Plus, Sharp has been off; if he gets back on track, look out.

Penguins had a lot more talent than the Rangers too.

Rangers are 3-1 against the Hawks and Kings combined this season and the 1 loss was a controversial 1-0 game.

The Pens are prob the most purely talented team in the league but they had/have holes that in terms of ability to forecheck and bang bodies and such that other cup contenders don't have... 'complete team' kind of stuff... and they have MAF who is a head case in the playoffs.

While I think it will be a good series no matter who the Rangers play, this is irrelevant. Hawks were 2-1-2 against STL, 2-3-0 against MIN, and 3-0 against LA. Once it comes postseason the regular season is irrelevant.

Don't get me wrong, the Rangers can beat both the Hawks and Kings. I just think the Kings and Hawks are more talented and the Kings are playing just as well as the Rangers.

Head to head regular season record isn't too convincing. I believe the Hawks had a losing record against the Blues and Wild this year, and a winning record against the Kings.

edit...just saw 44's post...what he said.

Aside from the obvious Crosby and Malkin, I am not so sure that is true. The rangers do have a lot of talent too. You have guys like Nash and St-Louis who are 40 goals scorers. Guys like Brassard, Stepan, Haggelin, Zuccherello who are easily top guys, and then you have guys like Kreider, Pouliot(who is playing his most physical hockey ever) playing outstanding. Big presence in Boyle. Richards that is kind of a ghost, but he can certainly put the puck in the net. I mean this is a very talented team. They have a strong defense too, and an superbe goalie. I am not a fan of the Rangers by any means, but they are playing great hockey right now. Whoever it is in the west. The Stanley cup will be awesome.

I'm not saying the Rangers are going to win. But I saw like 8 of you post all in a row about how the Rangers have no chance and the West will win as if it's a foregone conclusion. I pointed out the regular season record just to show that we can hang with you guys.

I think I'd rather play the Blackhawks as I think Quick > Crawford and we match up a bit better with Chicago.

I also think the Rangers have the best team defense of the three teams remaining based purely on my eye test.

Also by the eye test, we have the best 4th line which goes a long way in the playoffs as we all know.

Then there's the St. Louis factor which can't be ignored.

Here come the hawks!

I'm still exhausted from watching that first OT. That was amazing hockey. Momentum is going in the hawks direction but winning tonight is going to be tough. I hope they can pull it off because I don't see them losing game 7 in the UC.

I'm still kind of in disbelief they won the last game... they were thoroughly out skated and out worked for a large portion of that game the other night.
