Id love to see a replay of a blues player taking a shot at someone's knee like Bickell or elbow to the head like Seabrook. Or even coming in second man at Tarasenko's bad wrist like Bickell did in Game 1. Find me one of those and I'll acknowledge your point

If the kid can stay healthy Tarasenko is gonna be a special one in the NHL

Here is the problem with the hit. The puck is long gone. A little bit of misfortune for Seabrook, as the blues guy was off balance... Sucks, but he should be penalize for that.

I would tell the Blues to act like they've been there before, but we all know they have never been. Lot of series left.

I'll offer my neutral opinion on the hit. Timing and position of Backus(sp?) were not a problem. The issue was the leading high with the forearm/elbow. Definitely deserved to be ejected but I think more than a 1 game suspension would be completely unfair. It looked a lot worse than it was because of the force.

I had this series 50/50 after game 1. Blackhawks chances are 98.7 percent despite losing game 2. You woke the sleeping giant now! The dogs still got some bite to their bark (if this confuses you, or you think this post is whacked, or you think I'm whacked I've done my job).

Or I could just take a page from Steel and tell the other team to F themselves. That really is not my style though.

Anyway St. Louis Budweiser/Busch is completely overrated. Yep I said it!

If my peformance on this thread during last year's Red Wings series is any indication of future sucess then I'd say this post just turned the whole series around.

Boom!

Now that I've had time to cool my tongue (with a few shots of bourbon mixed with maniacal screaming): Fuck the Blues

You know there is a time to lose with dignity .....

BUT ....

This ain't one of them times because the Hawks are gonna win this!

Sometimes you got to talk trash to the bulleys so we all can gain confidence.

Turnaround has already begun boys! Look Out!

I think Seabrook deserves everything he is going to get. The awful part of the whole thing that really made me lose respect for the Hawks after watching the replay is when Backes gets up and can barely stand, everyone can tell he is not okay at all, and Toews comes by and starts chirping and Seabrook is laughing at him. That's shitty. Show some class. Seabrook knows exactly what he did. He saw an opportunity to lay the big hit on the captain and went for it.

"I feel bad seeing a guy like that on the ice." - Seabrook post game

That's some BS

So a guy who gets up from a big hit and tries to talk shit (sure it sounded like a pile of marbles were in his mouth) is immune from any back talk. More reinforcement the Blues love the hard game but cry foul when they are the victim of it.

The Blackhawks weren't playing a hard game they were playing a dirty game at the end. There's a difference. If the Hawks want to trade hits then fine play that game but don't act like Seabrook's hit or Bickell's penalty (both of which are being reviewed by the NHL) are the same as the Blues style of play.

Nathan MacKinnon is unreal. Already has 4 points in the playoffs. Just saw the replay of his goal from the first period. Dirty.

EDIT: and as I post, he gets his 4th assist. Amazing.

Congrats to Columbus on their first playoff win

They deserved it. Personally I think they have been out playing
the Pens in this series so far anyway.
Didn't see the Blues/Hawks game,sounds interesting though.
Did Backes leave the game injured?

Yes he did.

Given the cheap shot history of Backes and Jackman, seeing him laid out like a sock puppet was awesome. Karma for his bullshit play over all these years.

People saying here that it was "awesome" to see a guy get his brains scrambled need to check themselves. Real classy.

I don't see any posts where a person said it was "awesome" to see a guy's brain get scrambled.

Amazing how similar both games were. Hawks had a lead and delivered a big hit which only motivated the Blues and actually facilitated the come back.

The Hawks just have to play with energy, play their game rather than let the Blues dictate the style of play and keep their composure. You want to match the Blues energy but don't let the game become a hit-fest. We will see if they can do that at the UC

Seabrook has no history of dirty play. Raffi has a history. There is no comparison.

He made the hit, got a major and the blues won the game bc of it. Seabrook wasn't out there head hunting with the game on the line.

Hawks fans that are saying it wasn't a dirty cheap shot should watch this and not complain if a similar 25 game suspension is handed out.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fY9CmK86fhs

My guess is 3-5 though.

Another cheap shot from this puke: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o8vhXmCwt5w

But then he gets a taste of his own medicine!

Yeah, Torres' leaping shoulder into Hossa's head is comparable.
OKAY.
Seabrook didn't leave his feet, made contact with his chest first, and hit a player that is a known cheap shot artist.
Hossa almost never lays a hit, so to target him with dirty stuff is whack.
There is a difference.

Backes is a dirty player that tasted his own BS.
If that hit was on anyone else (besides Jackman), I'd be screaming foul.
Penalty? Yes. Suspension? No.
When you play on the dirty edge, you can't cry foul when someone plays that was back.

Regardless of what I or anyone else says, this is the NHL playoffs.
Passions run high and fans see what they see.
I'm quite sure my views on this subject are just as skewed as I feel yours are... probably more.

This goes back to the eighties for me.
My hatred for St Louis is only rivaled by my hatred for the North Stars.
Fuck Backes, Fuck the Blues.

:)
