USA hockey needs a complete overhaul. What a joke, torts and dean need to fired into the sun.

Usually the Canadian/American rivalry is quite heated, however last Friday at the WCOH kickoff in Toronto when the American team got introduced nobody seemed to care. It was shocking to see the crowd just let a collective "meh" out. Even the Russians got booed more!

Time to get rid of the old dinosaur's in charge and bring in the new blood.

WCOH is a terrible idea and needs to be killed quickly. Olympic hockey is where it's at, so the collective not giving a crap on the part of the US was strategic. US hockey is producing world class players, so it's not a talent or development issue.

I think you missed the point here. It's not the talent or development that's the problem, it's the decision makers that are picking and deploying the teams. On a talent level the US team should be competing for a top 3 finish every time.

Also, there is a better than 50% chance NHLers won't be at the next Olympics.

Olympics will still be the best hockey tournament around

I don't understand the hate for the WCOH. It has been a very entertaining tournament. Of course the U.S. was an embarrassment and does not an overhaul. I wouldn't say that didn't give a crap, the players seemed to and Torts certainly did, they just had poor strategy.

Anyway, the season is starting soon. The Ducks will either flourish without BB or they will decline this season. The Wild will either flourish with BB or they will decline because their core is getting long in the tooth.

Tournament has been great so far. I got to give props to ESPN or whoever is responsible for multi-cams view. That is pure awesomeness. I would love every game to be shown that way. It's as if you were in the best seat in the house all the time.

I honestly did not watch one second... which is odd for any international tourney in either soccer or hockey... love both on that stage.

As far as the Olympics go... I'd still be all in on a non NHL group of players.

Yeah it still will be

Did you watch Olympic hockey in 1992 and 1994? Not even close to the level of play in the World Cup, nor was it as good as the World Hockey Championships.

The World Junior Championships is more exciting than Olympic Hockey without the NHL

The Blackhawks are realistically my last hope to salvage this nightmare 2016 sports year.

2016 #1 overall pick Auston Matthews with 4 goals so far in his NHL debut. Damn impressive.

Unbelievable. Historic unbelievable. The pride and joy of Scottsdale, AZ. He played on the AZ Bobcats with a buddy or mine's kid. If he would have been 1 or 2 days older he would have qualified for last year's draft where he probably would have gone #3 to the Coyotes.

Financially, the Leafs are the Cowboys of the NHL and they are dying for a winner. He couldn't be in a better place to become the next great one.

Tonight during the Hawks game they said that there are 7 nd players starting tonight in the nhl. That has to be a record.

Pens score three goals in less than one minute,.... Would have been super cool had it not been against a minor league hockey team.

Will wait to see this team at full strength before I just but Hakstol has got to get better at player usage and Lineups. No way Bellmare should be your 3C, that is a huge, huge problem. Consistently dressing Vandevelde is another. They played well tonight but it seemed every mistake went into the back of the net.

Wish I could smack but the flyers have been weak since 2010ish

2012 they had a really good team, if Pronger doesn't get hurt I truly believe that team contends for a cup, him getting hurt and retiring really set them back. Holgren had this franchise spiraling straight into the ground, thank goodness for Hextall.

This is true, but Holmgren was given a head-start by Bobby Clarke and Russ Farwell.

Vandevelde! He's a local boy. Unfortunately a North Dakota Fighting Siou....I mean Hawk.

I know very little about hockey. It's not very big here. I'll defer to you on that! Would love to see the Flyers make a run at the Cup though. Giroux is a great player and they are going to waste his career.

The thing is though, Holmgren had them in really good shape. He got great value for Carter and Richards, cleared cap space, they had a good defense, great depth upfront, then it started going downhill.

Traded for and signed Bryzgalov which was dumb when they had Bobrovsky.
Traded for Nick Grossmann who, just isn't good.
He traded JVR for Luke Schenn,
Signed Lecavalier.
Traded for and signed Andrew MacDonald to an absolutely dumb contract.
