He is currently a head coach so I’m not sure he’d fall into that unnamed “high level P5 offensive coordinator”

Right. Two separate thoughts there by me. Should have used two separate paragraphs.

But yes I hope the unnamed OC is someone better than Denbrock.

Interesting no mention of Moorhead. Were I a betting man I’d put money on the unnamed “high-level P5 offensive coordinator.” Freeman seems like a “loose lips sink ships” type.
Loy has been saying for a couple days now that Freeman is trying to patch all the leaks in the Gug.

This is a bullshit account, FYI. The kid doesn't know shit and just reposts paid content and stuff that he reads on message boards that sounds plausible. Grubl for a new age.
True but prister retweeted the one about Johnson

He is dopey with tech often

But, his "arguments" on Twitter are pretty rare. And he knows what he's doing, he's going in to engage once and while. VS Driskell like people who constantly fall for it

Yeah, that's probably true.

Ironically, wasn't Loy the one who made a post that the staff didn't like which basically f*cked up ND's chances with Monroe Freeling?

Haha I don't know. Probably. Supposedly the Reeses were primary sources for 247 so we'll see what happens going forward. Even before this it seemed like Freeman wasn't comfortable with the level of access the media had at ND. He really limited practice viewings and probably will even more going forward, and he seems to want way less recruiting information made public (understandably).

Agreed but I saw the source was a Bucs reporter out of Tampa who was first to announce & these BS accounts simply retweeted it. At least all the others credited the reporter unlike CFB Watcher.

I am really surprised about how tight lipped everything is. I figured Freeman would be more open with this part of the team.

He might’ve been the one to post something about Jackson Arnold visiting & he cancelled because of it.

Probably an un-popular opinion on Leftwich, but I could've called plays for that Tampa Bay team the year they won it all. They were loaded and had the GOAT playing QB. You learn a lot about a coach when shit hits the fan and there's a little adversity. He didn't show out this year despite the challenges. Do we not think there's going to be challenges calling plays for ND? Still a very hard pass for me. Not to mention if he was any good as a playcaller/coach there's plenty of places in the league that would be knocking on his door, which right now does not appear to be the case.
The Bucs got bad fast after winning their Super Bowl. They got old and slow in a hurry and haven't been drafting well since Arians got there.

The only person you want to stay long term is Freeman. I think recruits are getting used to coordinators leaving and unfortunately, coaches are now getting used to players transferring. Basically its the Program and the HC that matter long-term.
Agree that it's the Program and the HC that matters, but a top-notch OC will help in landing top-notch skill players, especially when the head coach is pretty raw on the offensive side of the ball. Concerning Freeman, I'd rather wait another year or so before saying that the only person I want to stay long term is him. He recruited well this year, but not as well as we all thought in the spring. As for his coaching, it's hard to judge, but he did lose to Marshall and Stanford. Time will tell, but it's too early to say that he will be an elite coach.

In any case, Freeman's choice of OC will be a very important part of his future as a head coach.

This should not come as a surprise to anyone. It's going to get considerably worse in the next few years, too.

I am not going to play "Tommy Rees as ND head coach in six years" on the ol' binga card.
Very true. I spoke with a coach on and NFL team a few weeks ago who echoed this. He previously coached at a few P5 teams, and even a perennial Top-25 team. He's been in NFL ~5 years now and loves it. He coaches...and that's it. He's an analyst, and the way those jobs have grown throughout the NFL (and college), he realizes he can probably always get a job in the NFL.

Just think also how much things have changed in 5 years with twitter, tik tok, snap chat, NIL, the portal, sitting out postseason games, etc. 5 years ago he was totally relieved to get out of the college game and into the pros. I can only imagine what it would be like now.

It's my worry for a guy like Johnson. He's tasted the other life now, and sees how dramatically different it can be.

These pro coaches just sound like they see the players as chess pieces and don’t care about the individual.

These guys are teachers basically. The teacher doesn’t really care about your kid.
