Virtually every name on the list Prister put out would be an upgrade over Rees. This is probably going to be one of those "best for both parties" situations.
Ludwig would fit ND strengths so well. He wants balance and is creative. He has significant experience and will not bolt. He and Harry would be a strong pairing IMO.
I still think Nagle would be solid and fits most of these criteria except maybe the important #2 but having been so involved in Tulane's offense over last few years, I can't imagine he doesn't have strong ideas re: development of a QB (and someone could always be hired underneath him - GA). He's been a Tulane a good number of years and staying in one place seems to have allowed him to develop and perfect his philosophy, and dang, going from 2-10 to 12-2 and beating SC and Nail-polish Williams ain't too bad!People have to realize that the new OC probably will need these characteristics:
- Established Play-caller
- Quarterback coach
- Recruiter
- Experienced
- No Baggage
If he wouldn't bolt from ND, why would he bolt from Utah where he's from?
Pay. ND has been paying coordinators quite well, unlike the past. He had been all over the country, not just PNW. So location shouldn't be a hindrance
He’s done it before to go to CalIf he wouldn't bolt from ND, why would he bolt from Utah where he's from?
If it came to that I would hope ND could do better than a guy who just left after underachieving as OC.If it's Parker, Tommy Rees is ND's HC in 2 years
We
is he the presumed leader for OC?

Overall I might agree, but Denbrock has also had some pretty good offenses over the years. His 2015 ND offense was legit and he did a great job with LSU this past year.No way. i know nothing about Trickett but i highly doubt he would be better.
Denbrock No, Parker No, Hartline would blow him away recruiting but we don't know anything about his game plans or calling plays. NO way you take that risk.
Who is this in reference to?So what's stopping him from going to Bama / Georgia / Broncos / Whoever... when they come calling?
Just playing devils advocate btw
Probably the Eagles QB coach.Who is this in reference to?

I think it’d be the best for both parties if Moorhead stayed a head coach. There's a story in the Athletic today that says Moorhead turned Saban down, said he wanted to be a head coach. Also said Rees was Saban's fifth choice. Garrett Riley was first but he jumped to Clemson before O'Brien even left Alabama. Then came Lebby, Grubb, Moorhead and Rees.
The ND situatuin is a little different than Bama's for a guy like Moorhead, he's probably not looking for a mentor at this point in his career. But if "being a head coach" is the reason he turned down Bama it wouldn't be likely he'd go to ND as OC.
Akron won two games last year. Moorhead may not be a head coach for all that long. There's a story in the Athletic today that says Moorhead turned Saban down, said he wanted to be a head coach. Look up Ludwig. He's quietly impressive. Utah wins a lot of football games. He or Moorehead are probably the two best options unless they can get Johnson or Leftwich (with the understanding that they're NFL up and comers who probably don't stay that long).Ludwig --- don't know anything about the guy
Moorehead --- may not want to go back to being an assistant and prefer running his own show
Brady --- hated recruiting and thats why he went NFL. not happening
Gattis --- hell no
Parker --- please no
Bama fans (not all) arguing the opposite. Claim Grubb flew down on UW plane & no word whether he was truly offered and that Moorhead was never offered the job. At this point, it‘s semantics as the truth will likely not come out but fans who feel their team is being disrespected by the thought that a coach would dare turn them down can’t be argued with. Agreed. He was 2 games over .500…just like Leach (RIP). Difference seemed to be Moorhead was a poor cultural fit.Moorhead did pretty well at MSU. The man can coach. I wouldn’t judge him off year 1 at Akron.
Agree completely. I'm just saying his tenure at Akron may not last that long. So it would be a shame if he turns us down because he "wants to be a head coach," only to get pushed out after another rough year or two.Moorhead did pretty well at MSU. The man can coach. He took that job knowing full well it was a complete rebuild so expectations were low. Winning two games was likely a pleasant surprise. Doubt he’d leave now based on why he took the gig in the first place. I believe his wife’s family lives there as well.Akron won two games last year. Moorhead may not be a head coach for all that long.
Agreed although he just got settled in Boulder so doubt the timing is idealSean Lewis is an underrated name on this list I think.
