Anybody know what Loy's cryptic tweet showing a Tiger was about? Is he a golf fan?

Minor nitpick here, but I kind of wish these beat reporters had separate, personal accounts for s*** like this. Even if a tweet wasn't misconstrued as cryptic, I sure as hell don't give a s*** what Loy thinks personally about anything outside of Notre Dame football.

EDIT: Not Lloyd lol

What are you referring to? Where is he saying this?
He's got a whole, long post on his website about it. Essentially, he wants Freeman to come out and say "the beat was right about the Ludwig buyout stuff". But one of the reason's no one would hire Driskell as a coach again is because he doesn't understand big picture stuff like the press conference today. Haha

Of the reasons nobody would hire Driskell to be a coach (note: he topped out at Defiance College, which is the kind of place good coaches go to as a start), this is pretty far down the list. The guy is a twerp, and it boggles the mind that people think he's a legitimate source for anything.

He's begging for something in this case because he (and the rest of the beat) were shown to have no actual insight into what was going on. It's a significant problem for them in keeping their revenue stream, and ultimately their job. For Driskell specifically, why should SI continue to contract with him when he is so obviously in the dark?

I've lost respect for pretty much every ND talking head.

I try to ingest as much content as a can from various reporters/pods/etc. in order to help paint a broader picture of what's happening within the program. I'm convinced none of them know and are scrambling to maintain relevant to their subs.

They are relevant because we have a thirst for constant information. We demand. They supply. When they have nothing to supply, and we still demand, we end up with the shit posting, pot-stirring drama that we're all much accustomed to.

Idk what to do about it, other than to stop caring so much and just focus on game days and National Signing Days.

I didn’t renew my subs. The content is as bad as I’ve ever seen it.

Yeah I was pretty dismayed by Prister's takes

When he said he thinks Watt is ready to be an OL coach at the highest CFB levels, I about came out of my chair. One of the other 2 chowder heads followed it up with "Heistand lives in SB, he can ask Harry whatever questions he wants."

what the hell.

They were talking about Watt being a candidate. Exact quote: I think he's ready.

ND football. One of the bluest of bluebloods. The highest level of college football. Prister thinks Watt is ready to be the ND Football OL coach. And the other quote was exact (think that was O'Malley, but not sure).

That was a bit out of context.

The conversation was about how they don't really think Watt is ready unless Harry was going to be around in some sort of analyst, mentor role (which he's not) so they joked about how Harry still lives close by and he can pick his brain all he wants.

Prister did suggest that he'd be fine with Watt, ultimately. But I got the impression he's not his, or anyone else's, first choice.

Just my take on that segment.

Prister has lost it then. There is not one scenario where Notre Dame should be hiring/promoting a GA or assistant to coach one of the best OLs in the country.
