By no other than ACross. That guy is seriously mental.

If were to go 12-0 next year and win the national championship game (hobbs might say "MNC"), then I would still want Kelly to be fired.

Why, you ask? Because going 13-0 would not fit my narrative or further my agenda.

And it would not be proof that the program were in fact built - it could be aberrational and definitely not conclusive. We'd certainly need more data points. And of course the real thing would be whether our yards per play differential was consistent with other teams that had won the MNC with a brand spanking new starting QB and only 14.2 returning starters.

so, to those who would jump to a hasty conclusion that Brian Kelly should be retained after running the table, think again. Be more cautious. And don't let expectations become your enemy.

I really think he's being sarcastic (14.2 returning starters; furthering his agenda; fitting his narrative; etc.).

I have been reading ACross' posts for many years, and I don't believe that he is being sarcastic. Nor do I think he would really want Kelly fired if we went 12-0. What he is doing is posturing in a way that if we were to struggle, he would be able to look back and say "see! see! I told you".

He is like a child.

If we went 12-0 noone would want kelly fired. Could you imagine what this would do for us just in the recruiting world.

Worse, he's a child and a snob. A very unappealing combination. He epitomizes all that is wrong with those jerks.

These people have lost touch with reality. What is the point of being a fan if you can't even take pleasure in your team's success? I want Notre Dame to win because I'm a Notre Dame fan, not because I want to be proven right about how Notre Dame should get back to the top. If every football decision Kelly made was the exact opposite of the one I would have made, but he went undefeated and won a national championship, I would be ecstatic nevertheless. These NDNation people are not fans. They are people who have a weird obsession with ND football. The difference is that fans follow the sport in a spirit of fun and optimism.

ha. When I first started coming here, I thought you were ACross... very shortly after, I realized that you weren't an @sshole, so you couldn't be.

Funny thing is, is that his screen name and posts, give away exactly who he is (he actually is quite successful). One day recently, a poster was disgusted in one of his posts, so he figured out who he was. At that point, he emailed ACross' post to his boss. I don't know what he said or how mad his boss was, but it was big enough that the mods of ndnation nuked the board and made a bunch of harsh post reprimanding the board.

Part of me thinks its effed up (this is just the interweb, afterall), but part of me wants to buy the guy that did it a beer. He might be the only person on the planet that actually shut that bastard up.

The moderators protect that ******* Cross, which is his actual last name. I believe Cash had disciplinary problems at Notre Dame and Coffey's more interested in the basketball team. I don't know much about Engler or Vannie, but those four set the tone of what is a constant criticism of Notre Dame. They have purged any dissenters, and others have simply left once it was obvious what their agenda was.

It is a travesty that they have the domain name NDNation.com, as people may actually think their views represent Notre Dame. The board reeks of people that have an axe to grind against Notre Dame. It is obvious they want Kelly to fail, and how much they hate the Administration and the Trustees. It's a collection of angry, conservative white males who represent the far right wing fringe of Notre Dame. The real Notre Dame is much more diverse in all ways.

Crossed swords with John Vannie on UHND a long time ago, he
didn't make sense and several questioned his statements. He
never (as far as I know) posted there again. Later, I saw
his name as one of the four operators at NDN...Tom

The real operators of NDNation...

The real operators of NDNation...

Seriously... do the posters on NDNation even like Notre Dame? Their negativity and constant cry-baby attitude is absurd. During USC week, there were more threads about Jumbotrons and Field Turf (they don't want either) than the upcoming game. Every damn post on the site is whining about something. They think Kelly is a shanty-mick, they hate anything new that ND tries to do to stay modern, they simply hate everything about this team. So this thread is dedicated to share idiotic posts from that site. Here we go.

"The truth is this - ND football died some time ago, and it is the direct result of poor management. I'm not sure if it flatlined against Syracuse in 2008, or against USC in 2002, against MSU in 2005, against Navy in 2010, or against Vanderbilt in 1995, but it sure as **** is dead now."

With fans like these, who needs enemies....

I do not have a single positive thing to say about NDNation or any of its moderators. They are an embarrassment.

This is probably my last post in Rock's House.

I've been perusing these pages since 2002, and in that decade I've posted maybe 10-12 times. I used to greatly enjoy the banter and back-and-forth, and of course, the quality information regarding ND football.

That said, over the past 3-4 years, this board has become unreadable and ridiculous.

The negativity expressed by some on this board, most of all ACross, is just becoming too much to handle. He cloaks his poo-pooing in some self-righteous, holier-than-thou, self-appointed notion of "protecting Our Lady's Football Program." In actuality, ACross and those like him are the cliche, unrealistic ND fan that the media thinks we all are.

I support Brian Kelly because he is our coach and he has not (yet) demonstrated that he will not win big here, or at least lay the foundation for institutional improvement following 4 coaches that failed. It has only been two years and there are posts about firing him. Seriously?

I for one think that Tommy Rees is the worst ND QB I've ever seen and I completely disagree with Kelly's decision to play him. I also disagreed with his throwing his players under the bus after the USC loss. So, I'm not a pollyanna who blindly trumpets everything he does.

But he is our coach right now. Our next 2-4 football seasons depend on him through both coaching and recruiting. By speaking openly (and honestly) about his inevitable demise, ACross and the other haters are hurting the program.

Let's just see what happens before we start drafting Call for Change XII. Ridiculous . . .

Well said IRISHFRIAR, well said. You will have a home here if you would like it. :werd:

The sad thing is no one agreed with him, and had some smart *** comment to make. I truly believe that site is an undercover site for opposing fans

Soooo..... I may have picked a fight...

My post is the 4th one down, but I linked it from the start for scope. The responses to my prose are funnier than hell. They get all butthurt and pretty much prove all of my points.

I'm genuinely curious

Why even post over there? For fun? Lol.

It's kinda like poking a bum with a stick and then hiding behind the tree. It's not done so much for the antagonizing, but more to just see them fall off their bench, cussing at the invisible people. Then pissing themselves.

Some things are just too hard to pass up.

Good argument. Most of that nonsense is shallow end of the gene pool material IMO. They add nothing to the ND landscape. NDNation is nothing more than a fingertip country club where only the "elite in their own minds" stand a chance. Their board is completely unreadable.

What really makes me giggle is Kabong asking a question and becoming totally defensive about the answers that he was actually looking for. Totally laughable.

But don't you have to wait like a year to post there?

That is correct. That is their way of trying to keep it a good boy's club. If just anybody could post in Rock's, then guys like ACross would get ganged up on by all of the poor, uneducated people with poor table manners.

I am assuming that you want to know why I in particularly can post there? Well, I started posting on NDNation about a decade ago. Before many of the guys that rule the roost there currently even. Back in the day, it used to have some decent dialogue. But they have sucked it hard for many years now. So technically, I have been a member there for over a year, just not a contributing poster.

Ha... they erased all of my posts and their rebuttals. Don't want to get the common folk to get worked up, I guess.

They must fear an uprising or something.

Looks like someone picked up where I left off though:

He's Snooki....You can ignore every piece of trash he ever puts up for public consumption but you can't avoid a nation full of people encouraging it.

I wish I could rep this dude.
