There is no getting around it: not making the Final Four, for this team, is a huge disappointment. It is particularly so when you hold a 14 point lead at halftime. Simply inexcusable.

The utter lack of defense has been a major ongoing problem in the program. UConn held excellent offensive ND teams to 58 and 53 points, respectively, in the 2014 and 2015 title games. Why can't we play elite defense like that? We're always in tight games because while we score 70 or 80 points, the other team does too. That needs to change.

To the previous poster (NDGS) --- with all due respect: shove it where the Sun don't shine. This team developed into a terrific team as the season went on, and had to play Stanford without their only rim protector --- a defensive player of the year who was listed as All-American by some. Unbelievable comments. I suggest creating your own dreamstate fantasies, thereby you'll never be "disappointed"

The only sports team that owes fans anything at ND is the football team. Why? Because fans/boosters/alums spend gazillions of dollars to put a winning product on the field. And even then I'd say it's not the student athletes that owe fans anything... it's really the coaches and administrators that do and have an obligation to meet "expectations."

So, in short, I don't respect any detractors of this team especially after the injury to Turner. The players who could play and the coaches who could coach did their best and came up a point short. Oh well, thems the breaks.

The evidence is what it is. This was a problem with the program long before Turner was even on the radar. Furthermore, we weren't in the top 50 in OPP PPG this season, which was with her in the lineup.
