As soon as they got down to the 2 the loss hit me.. It wasn’t Stanford in the rain..

I’m gutted.. But I’ll be fine tomorrow. Notre Dame’s been torturing me for decades..

I think what hurts most this time is that I know we could have & should have won that game..

Bama 42-14 I expected.. Georgia losses I expected..

But this one I thought we’d win.. tough

For the young-ins, this loss is objectively worse than the Bush Push; but as someone who lived through that game, UTL, 2012 Natty, and FSU 2014, you can’t kill what is already dead. Still like to yell at the TV though.

Oh fuck me I had totally memory holed 2024 FSU where we legitimately beat the then-number-one team on the road and got it STOLEN. Yeah this game isn’t close to some of the “defeat from the jaws of victory” style losses ND has suffered.

We will never win another championship. We probably won't break our NY6 streak before that term literally doesn't mean anything anymore. We will never be anything other than what all our critics say we are. That was proven before the game when we let yet another team paint our stands. The game just solidified it.

Hopefully I find something else to keep me on this earth before my next breakdown, but that thing will definitely no longer be Notre Dame.

This needs to be the mindset b/c Duke & their fans will be amped for next week’s prime time match up. We saw what a first time starter can do with enough time vs ND. Now we face a dual threat future NFL first rounder so that challenge just got tougher. You know Elko will bring some defense as well. ND can win out but it will be far from easy.

I am on to accepting Golden and Freeman havent spent enough time with them coaching fundamentals. When ELko was DC here every update including how much time they were spending on tackling and getting take aways.

Exactly. Like it or not but Freeman & Golden will need to address these mistakes. And Parker isn’t off the hook either. The 4th & shorts haven’t worked so kick the FG

As most of you I remember 2005 and every heartbreak before then and after. I have been a fan all my life and this loss has taken too much of a toll on me. I wish (like many of you) that I wasn't so invested in a sports team but ND has been my team since birth! With all that being said time to share my unprofessional thoughts on tonight and the team:

- MF has to quit taking the high road all the time. His presser after the game is not what we need in a head coach. If I wanted to hear the same ole stuff then we could have kept that looser LSU coach or got someone like him. I get it that we are all disappointed and so is the team and staff but it should have been about accountability and MF needs to take the blame for some of the issues that happened in the game tonight. IMO he is the right man for the job but he is just inexperienced when it comes to being in charge of the whole show.

- I like Parker so far since its only four games into his OC career at ND. I don't like the flow of the playcalling throughout the game though. It seemed to me that he didn't have a thorough plan. We abandoned the run when we needed to run and we didn't attack downfield when I thought we should have. Additionally, we should have mixed in more screens but hell what do I know?

- Al Golden needs to take the stand and answer for what is going on in his defense. Our front seven play tonight was mediocre and I blame that on him. If you know you can't get to the QB because we are at a talent disadvantage then you need to get creative but be smart about doing so. Know were we are in the game and make a smart play call. Too often I feel we just send the house when we could throw in some D-line stunts or send a LB smartly. Also if the best we can send out on the field is the same old typical slow LBers then we need to get someone on the staff that can get our young kids ready quickly at that position (See Chansi Stucky for example, JG and RF came to play tonight and have proved they can play throughout this young season). Put Sneed on the field more and let him run, teach him throughout the game, hell give him a tablet and let him see what he did right and wrong after each series. Also I am not a fan or Marist, he is too out of control. If you watch him on the last play, it is a perfect example of his play. He runs right into the pile of OL and makes himself an easy target to get taken out of the play. If our defense can't tackle (and they can't) then that's on AG. I don't want to get into AW as a coach but he needs to step up also.

As far as the game tonight...
- Ryan Day is a tool and he will get his because OSU will blow some easy game in the Big27 before they get owned again against scUM.

- I thought we played to lose not to win like MF kept saying in his post game presser. Yes we missed a FG early but it didn't cost us the game.

- Feel bad for DJB but he has to make that play as a leader on this team!

- Our freshman WR are the best FR we have put on the field at that position in a long time. They are game ready and that is because of their position coach. Props to CS again!

- We had SH as our QB tonight but it seemed like we were calling plays for Drew Pyne.

- Not sure why Mini Bus didn't get more touches but overall I am so happy with the depth we have at RB. It has to be hard though to get into a rhythm at the RB position on this team but all our guys had a great game tonight and their effort should be praised.

I will end my rant now thanks for reading or not but I feel better getting my thoughts out there!

Edit: Sorry I forgot to mention that the announcers sucked. How NBC can continue to have these asshats on the air is puzzling to me. Can we just get two unbiased guys with football knowledge to call the games. They don't have to be big names just educated and not homers for one side or the other. Also the refs sucked for two weeks in a row now.

The new clock rules suck also!

Ouch! It gets worse... I just watched USC/ASU halftime show and Acho pointed out that not only was it only 10 players on last few plays, but on that last game-winning run for a TD, OSU ran right at the gap where the missing DE would have been lined up. Who knows how that play turns out if the DE is there because you see the OSU RB barely crosses the goal line. 😲

10 on the field for the LAST TWO FREAKING PLAYS! We played with 10. Took a timeout, and sent 10 back out there for the last play of the game.

That is a fireable offense.

We were analyzing that play like the Zapruder Film for a solid 2 weeks on here.

First move? I've been here all night sunshine. Of course I'm gonna check out what their hated rival thinks. You know, the team that's kicked their teeth in two straights years. But we ALMOST beat them at home. Almost.

Today sucks, no doubt about it. Unacceptable end to an otherwise, hard-fought game. I was a student for that '05 game, this feels worse because we all felt we should have won...you're not wrong in thinking that. BUT...
I'm a believer in MF, surely not his best moment. No moral victory will suffice for the feeling but I refuse to believe that someone like MF, with a group that fought to the last whistle, won't work tirelessly to make it right and grow from this moment. He's already shown and prove in that regard. God willing, we all wake up tomorrow...everything will be fine, God bless yall.
