I have given up. Straight up I have given up on us ever actually competing for anything in my lifetime. We simply do not have what it takes.

A couple weeks ago I literally attempted to kill myself. I had the rope around my neck and was checking for structural integrity. I literally put it off partly because I thought that I wanted to get through football season. Even in my darkest moment, I had the hope that we might do something. This team literally gave me life.

But that is gone.

We will never win another championship. We probably won't break our NY6 streak before that term literally doesn't mean anything anymore. We will never be anything other than what all our critics say we are. That was proven before the game when we let yet another team paint our stands. The game just solidified it.

Hopefully I find something else to keep me on this earth before my next breakdown, but that thing will definitely no longer be Notre Dame.
Bro I really want you to seek the help that you need.

Keep looking for the little things to keep pushing forward.

Even thinking of posting The Office gif of Kevin spilling the pot of chili as an analogy to our coaching in the last three minutes isn’t enough to make me chuckle right now.

We down bad.

Was Baptiste the missing DE? Ryan Day looks like an evil villain, maybe he plated the long con and planted him at Notre Dame for this very moment.

This one hurts a lot, let’s hope ND wins out and that should secure a playoff spot. I’ve always enjoyed this site but I think I’m going to step back for awhile. Go Irish
I've been a diehard ND fan since about 1987, but this is also where I'm at. I've stepped back from following recruiting a bit, and have been so used to watching failure on the big stage, I'm almost numb to it. There is another day, another game.

I understand what you’re saying but you want him to get the ball out quickly and tackle in-bounds. Even if it’s a first down, they spike it, they have one shot and a lot of yards to cover.
Sure rushing 4 or 5 is a possibility and it could pay off. But a breakdown in your backfield increases percentage wise I would think pretty drastically. Heck we saw it happen when Ben mo corner blitzed and left a receiver wide open.

By dropping 8, the breakdown is less likely to occur. Unfortunately we beat the percentages with Hendersons inexplicable decision to guard the back of the endzone.

It's OK man. They are losers. You are not. It's just entertainment.

I basically follow local recruiting anymore so I can go see those kids play.

Marcus’s explanation wasn’t good bro. Take the penalty. Move the ball 1.5 feet. Play with 11 guys.
Never said Marcus could explain away his dumbass failure.
Been waiting for this game since 2013.
NOBODY will heal this pain

It wasn't the yardage, it's that you're giving them 2 shots. They can also decline the penalty unless the play is blown dead, and that's not a given. The bigger problem is lining up with 10 out of a timeout, not the second play.

I'm a pretty reasonable guy and really try to avoid hot takes or calling for heads. I also rarely get super angry or emotional after a loss. So what I'm about to say doesn't come from an emotional place, it's as matter of fact as I can be:

Someone needs to be fired for having 10 men on the field for the last two plays. Absolutely unacceptable bush league stupidity. I'm not saying it's Golden. It might be some assistant strength coach on the sideline who's responsible for that. If it is, he should be fired. If it's solely on the player, whoever decided it's on the player needs to be fired, and a vote should be held on that player's status.

Please adjust your settings so we can message you. ND Football is a game. What you, and many of us, unrelated to cfb, have experienced is real. Let's chat. Let's get you back on two feet. Lots of love to you, my friend.

Overall the team played hard. There didn’t appear to be a huge talent gap of any kind. Coaches could have called a better game especially when it counted. Tackling was bad again and needs to be addressed.

I’ll probably get crap for this next one. Hartman is an above average QB, but not elite. He reminds me of a backup NFL QB who plays in the league for 20 years. Knows where to go with the ball, and has a great understanding of the game, but doesn’t possess many elite skills.

Because it’s 3rd and 19 with 10 seconds to go and they have no timeouts. You’re trying to prevent a touchdown. And keep everything in front. It makes complete sense. Problem was Henderson left the middle of the field wide open.

A stop inbounds ends the game.

Comedy of errors.

Not sure I will ever be let down by an ND team more than Alabama '13, that was hard to watch.

This one barely registers. What's wrong with me? Rum.

The fact of the matter is:

- That’s the weakest Ohio St team in a bunch of years & we couldn’t pull it out.

- We need DEFENSIVE STUDS..

Like I’ve said before our DL is a joke & that was proven tonight like I said it would be.. McCord is not that good.. he had tons of time.

Bothello, Mills, Cross.. 2 or 3 deep on the elite programs..

Caleb Williams is going to shred us to pieces..

Our LB core & CBs are strong.. safeties are ok.. But the DL simply cannot get pressure & we all know what that leads to.

Lots of little things.. the missed FG.. Sam not getting that 1st down on the scramble.. DJ not snatching that INT.. 10 men on the field jfc..

And NOT driving down the field with 4 minutes left & ending the game.. that was the statement we needed to make.

We didn’t.

I was in the stadium. South end zone. Knew as soon as we kicked it to them there was too much time on the clock. Painful. OSU fans were just as stunned - brutal people for the most part. Just hope Irish get on track next week. Never give up.

Amen brother. I have come a long ways from the days of breaking TV remotes in my teen and twenties years. I’m not going to pretend I’m not hurt, but I kept it together as my 4 and 7 year old were watching it with me.
Yup exactly. I was watching it with my 5 year old before he fell asleep near me lol but I got depressed for a little bit but you look over and def puts things in perspective that it’s only a game. Life moves on
