Getting a good one boys

Mohammed is the son of former University of Kentucky star and eventual 1998 NBA first round pick Nazr Mohammed, who played for 18 years in the league.
🤔 Where you at Loy?

If Shrews has results on the court like he does in recruiting ND will be winning some games this year they were picked to lose.

Garrett's commit put ND at #18 on 247. If Mohammed picks ND over NOVA that is a huge win.

I’m kinda surprised he’s winning these recruitments outside the state of Indiana. It’ll be an exciting time when he starts getting the in-state guys.
I think it's going to be sooner than later that ND will be battling IU & Purdue for some Indiana boys.

Trent Sisley is one to watch for. He’s from waaaaaay down in Santa Claus, but we’ve gotten into the race since Shrews came on board. Also a big deal to have Ryan Owens ok staff for those AAU connex. That’ll pay off eventually.

There was a local article on Trent Sisley a few months ago, I think he is going to be a junior and he's visited once already. Shrews has been impressive on the recruiting trail.

Pulling a kid from that part of the state away from IU is a tall task.

Several articles I read made it very clear that playing time is a huge factor.

Offered his AAU teammate Braylon Mullins earlier this week.

I was wrong Mullins is not an AAU teammate of Sisley

With how much easier it is comparatively to find success in basketball than football, there was never a good excuse for why Brey was so lazy on the trail. If schools like private schools like Creighton, Xavier, Marquette or St Mary’s could have consistent success, it didn’t make sense that Notre Dame couldn’t.

I know it’s real early, but right now ND has the 5th ranked class on 247

I honestly thought it would be pure chaos with the ND basketball team and no players left when Brey retired. I think its quite impressive what Coach Shrews has done in the short time he has been on the job. Hopefully, the rebuild will only take 2 years.

rated the 7th best CG in the nation by some recruiting services and so a huuuuuge pickup by our irish. funny what a young and aggressive recruiter and coach can do in recruiting at a school that has a nice renovated arena and as nicest of a practice facility in the nation as you'll see.

I will not be surprised if we see a tournament big in his first season. I also won’t be too disappointed if we don’t. NDMBB is back!!!

Brey signed one of his best classes (at least on paper) back in the spring of 2018. New practice facility opened in fall of 2018. All signs were pointing up.

The lack of dedicated practice facilities were routinely pointed to as a big negative in recruiting. I had huge hopes that Brey was going to be able to push the program even higher. I have no idea what happened.

He’s building something special.
Lucky- you are on to something and I agree, but he is doing this in such short time.

ND got a homerun hire, he is hitting homerun's on the recruiting trail, can ND be a sleeper team this year??

It’s great what he’s been able to do on the recruiting trail. It will pay off dividends in 2024 & 2025.

But, ND is going to need a premier scoring threat to make some noise this season.

Is there a player on the roster that can do that? It remains to be seen.

Another local kid. Same high school as ya boi and Skylar Diggins. 2 of his sisters play at a Purdue. South Bend certainly produces good basketball talent.
