Oh I thought this was already on the schedule? I saw people talking about it for the past few hours on Twitter and assumed I just didn't know the OOC schedule lol

If the ACC doesn't implode, ND basically needs 1 power team (like a Texas) and 1 mid-level P4 team (Purdue, BYU, Cincinatti, etc....) to keep their independence. If the Big 10 and SEC try to crowd ND out by going to 9 conference games + 1 B10 / SEC challenge game, then we'll be in a tough spot.

5 ACC games
USC
Stanford
Navy
Big Time OOC game (Texas, A&M, UGA, etc..)
Mid-level P4 team (Purdue, MSU, BYU, etc...)
G5 School
G5 School

Texas, Clemson, Miami, USC, Arkansas in 2028.....

Texas is likely the only BIG game out of those five.

Clemson will be tough sure, but Dabo's program is a little different than it was 5-6 years ago. Who knows on Miami. They essentially buy a roster each year through the portal and recruit at a Top 5 level. USC is likely going to be the same USC we've seen, and Arkansas.... not really a powerhouse in the SEC.

Tough but doable. Too many teams want that sweet cash that comes with playing Notre Dame

Our scheduling philosophy right now is good for TV ratings and bad for making the playoffs.
Its like they hate freeman. His first two years were the fucking home and homes with osu and clemson in the same seasons

No easy intro for Carr then.
Edit: Wait a minute. I’ve got to get some sleep.

Yeah I tend to agree. The eye balls / $$$ are going to be too big for a top 15 program to resist evey year

This will end up being ND’s “scheduling agreement“ game in the B1G/SEC Challenge to kick off University Football’s Premier League season.

I want to watch good games too, but it would be nice if some of them were in December
Or even November.
I feel like the way our schedule often lines up, we play tend to play heavyweights early, but then when everyone’s talking about playoff seeding and there’s all these big conference showdowns, we’re off the radar playing service academies and ACC tomato cans.

I love it. Football is a hobby and I want to watch good games. These FBS vs FCS games everyone else plays are a bore.
They need to just say FCS games don't count and can be played only in Week 0 as a preseason game that doesnt count. I get that the checks help fund FCS teams, but it's increasingly stupid and it's not existential for them.
