I think that, because these deals are coming out now, tells me that scheduling like this might actually be a plus in the new playoffs. I don't think it's a coincidence, and we will see 9-3 teams who played a real schedule beat out 10-2 or even 11-1 teams who didn't.

Any time.
But Bama isn’t “Bama!” these days and Texas got plowed by Georgia and has beaten no one.
We’d be less than one-score underdogs, at worst, against either, and at that point yeah I think we can win one of those two games.
We could win two of those games, who knows?

Intriguing whisky bottles aside...

With the 1 dimensional offense? Sorry but beating HS teams the last six weeks really hasnt shown anything at all. A one trick pony wont work vs Texas and Alabama. Questionable if it would even work against Michigan this year.

Stop being so purposefully obtuse, we beat a team currently in the top 25 in that time span. Texas has only beaten Vandy for the entire season and they're neck and neck with Louisville in the rankings.

Sorry Irish but I see a one dimensional offense pounding much weaker opponents every week. Even USC, which is the last hurdle, is not a good team. I just dont see a complete or close to complete team here. Good defense but playing a strong team that limits the run is going to shut ND down. Just like they shut Michigan down.
Man I wish it wasnt true. But I really fear it is going to be a very quick playoff run for a team who shouldnt be there this year.

There is absolutely no complete team this year. Do you watch any other teams or just ND? I am not saying ND is a world beater but they are top 12 easily. Every fan base has a reason to be optimistic and pessimistic. It’s all what you choose in your own head.

Implying we shouldn't want to get into the playoffs because we'll get beat makes no sense whatsoever. This isn't the four team playoff where you could miss the playoffs but go to a major bowl game. The entire meaningful postseason is the playoff. No bowls outside the playoff are going to be seen as notable.

Everyone except one team is going to lose anyway. Get in, and if we get bounced early who cares? It's still better than playing the Poinsettia Bowl.
