I have a feeling her tuition was taken care of. Now that Kelly's gone you think Jack called the Bursars office and told them to cut an invoice? It's not like he can't afford it, but how funny would that be?

HA! In honesty, I wonder if they had to pro-rate the Fall Semester from Monday to Finals, and then a full amount for the Spring Semester.

Heard a rumor that former ND OL and current KC OL coach may be a candidate for the ND OL coach position. Maybe that would keep the juices flowing on that front.

Chris Zorich mentioned it on his podcast a few days ago, that's probably where it started. P.S. He actually mentioned Heck for the HC job.

Ah gotcha, thanks. Had an ND alum mention it to me, bet that’s where he heard it.

Great.

You have someone else in mind?

I mentioned even with zero links Baylor OL Coach Mateos has to be a call. It matches ND well.

After that it’d have to dig closer I’d guess with Freeman/Rees at the helm you consider anyone with links to ND/OSU/UC/Purdue/Rees’ NFL ties

Wasn’t Heck a name that came up when HH went to the Bears before they hired Quinn?

Yes, and I think that's actually a common arrangement. There are third party companies who own, maintain, and crew the jets. Large organizations contract with them for availability.

https://news.nd.edu/news/two-elected-to-board-of-trustees/

Since 2016 we have had ample expertise available to work through this issue. If you are recruiting coordinators who actually like their family this is essential. Absurd that a school with a national recruiting footprint is making recruiters fly commercial any more than they have to.

Hartline would be sweet for WR coach - maybe a search of top WR targets committed elsewhere and see if poaching the right coach might bring a ringer in tow.

Cutcliff for QB whisperer and general adult on duty.

Addition by subtraction if Polian, Alexander and Quinn allowing for some upgrades. I think Lezynski was a highly regarded anaylst that might be worth promoting to LB coach.

Hey y’all, new here, not sure how to embed a tweet but there’s a verified account @wisejohnp tweeting that Fickell will be the next DC. Sounds like BS to me but figured I’d toss it out there.

1st post. Troll worthy. Call for immediate ban.

I mean he's actually being serious, the tweet exists --

But it's obviously beyond stupid and makes no sense.

What incentive do you propose ND offer Brian Hartline to take the WR coaching job at ND when he has the WR coaching job at Ohio State, his alma mater? He makes $550K.

Keenan Bailey at Ohio State would actually be a more viable hire to coach WR, but again, we're talking about a really REALLY young coaching staff.

I got a better chance of getting pregnant. But heh if it messes up the players psyche on Cincy I'm all on board.

I think that ship has sailed forever per what others have said about treatment of players during his tenure. I'll be curious to see who comes in for the OL.

I feel like the Harry Hiestand saga is our Mike Leach/Craig James (CJK5H) scenario at Texas Tech. Some well to do parents of a coddled recruit raised a stink and ruined it for everyone else. Most Texas Tech fans regret ever letting Leach go, and it would be a shame if Harry could never come back because of one or two entitled kids. Playing OL is tough, and the successful guys swore by Harry. The dude still lives in town, FFS, and the kids still go to see him for instruction in their free time! It just makes sense. I don't care if he got tired of recruiting, we've got a lot of young guys on staff that can carry the bulk of the load. The results spoke for themselves.

Yup.

If/since Harry seems to be a scratch for OL, I'd say call up Ed Warriner again. He's down at FAU after Michigan let him go. He's done well at his previous stops, and he really helped shore up the line and improve our running attack when BK first came in. I know his recruiting chops left some wanting more, but he's built some solid lines and left a good foundation for Harry. I'd be fine bringing in Chris Watt too, even if he's inexperienced. NFL experience, Harry guy, Notre Dame man.

For WR coach, I'm just gonna throw this out there...Golden Tate.

I hate to say it but the modern 18-24 year old could benefit from a Boomer Harry teaching them life isn’t all roses. He apparently has an eye for talent and ability to develop. I actually miss the OL of his tenure.
