If he's reassigned it would be to analyst job which is the same thing as "out" as far as fans should be concerned. As an analyst he wouldn't have much player contact and would certainly not be involved with S&C. Yeah he would still be getting a paycheck, but as a fan who gives a shit about that.

and WON'T be surprised if Brian Polian is named SP coach

Polian would be an amazing hire here. Also he's a great guy to be the recruiting coordinator if Elston wants to move on for a coordinator spot.

Did a quick look at Stanford's special teams rankings for 2010 and 2011 when he was ST coordinator there. They ranked 20th in Special Teams Efficiency in 2011, and 33rd in 2010.

He was also recruiting coordinator there in 2011 when they brought in the 22 ranked class.

Interesting. The BGI guys said in their podcast this week that they thought he would get the nod at OC since that was Kelly's OC during his Cincy years (i.e. the years that got him the ND job).

So that leaves either Denbrock or an outside hire for OC then.

Is there any word on whether Elko is brining Cohen? The Wake message boards are worried about losing him, and then recruits. Based purely on that he seems like he would be a nice addition. However he may get the DC job now.

Not sexy, but I'm OK with it. 1) It's not Longo, 2) I think the staff has had JUST the right amount of turnover... Kick too many out, and it might work in the long run, but 2017 will be a mess. I think they nailed the 'percent turnover', if you will, and have hired some damn promising coaches.

I'm happy. Let's get drunk and be somebody.
