I can only go off Briles 1 year as OC without Dad and it was a diasaster.... No thanks..
Denbrock might lose calling plays, so maybe he wants to try to find an OC gig where he calls plays....
I don't need to get the top SC coach in country, but I would be in favor of grabbing a disciple of some of the top SC programs.. We recruit some of the top OL in country.. Its horrible that we don't dominate the line of scrimmage more against lesser than teams

I think you might be underselling the younger Briles a bit.
He had a big hand in building Baylor's offense and calling plays for the past three years, from what I understand. This past year was bad because they lost all semblance of depth, and had major QB issues (their depth issues will only get worse next year and the year after, unless Rhule works a miracle in closing out their current class).
I'm sure daddy having to leave because of his moral failures didn't help at all, but I'm not sure even he could have answered the personnel issues that popped up.

I've kept up with this thread and after reading it I have a couple of points.
Early on people linked Gilmore to BVG, along with Longo, as guys that played together and started coaching together. I think the idea was that whole group was out. I can tell you for a fact that there was no love loss between BVG and Keith Gilmore this year. If brining in Elko -
- adds another defensive staff member, that does put ND one over.
Here is the rub. You have Mike Elston, and Keith Gilmore, on defense. Keith has made inroads on technique with the defensive linemen, is there any room for argument.
Mike has done an incredible job as Recruiting Coordinator, (remember he had to do major workarounds with BVG), and really is the reason that ND's defense improved after BVG left. Because that was a major trauma for the kids, and the team.
So what do you do there? If you move Gilmore over the S&C staff, can he still work on technique?
That would move Elston back to the d-line if other reports are true. So I am thinking that the thirteen years Mike has in with Brian are about it. Elston either stays forever, or he branches out now for a shot at DC, which he doesn't look to get at ND.
As far as Denbrock, bringing in Sanford, and two years later Sanford leaving is all that needs to be said. If Denbrock is ever going to be anything but an assistant-Offensive Coordinator, now is the time.
Bringing in BP backs you up as Head Recruiting Coordinator, and there are the guys in the program to cover all the positions, if Denbrock, and Elston leave.
Or did I miss anything?

Ah, I'd love to go back into the recruit profile forums way back in history and see which "Buzz Buzz" emojis worked out, and which were bullsh*t.

It all still holds weight. Even the ones most people would think were bull shit were legitimate. The problem was that "buzz buzz" became synonymous with "incoming commitment". That was never really the case, but more rather that there was positive news of some sort.
He's still got sources.

I've really noticed that people end up talking more about themselves than others. Even on a text based internet forum. Especially when responding to a person, or behavior that irks them.
I'm getting a good feel for who is in control of themselves, and who is a reactive mess on this site.
Me I read his comment as TP, a trusted poster, with years of a positive track record, who clearly has some of the best inside sources this site has ever seen, is saying that something (big enough to be noteworthy) is happening within the program. But he is not at liberty to divulge more at this point.
I am just glad to get the rumble, early.
There have been times I heard things (like say, right now) that having a rumble from TP has been great.
So really, why come to this site to read and post if your ego is so fragile, or you are so pedantic, and petulant that others would so upset you?
Because it really gets old listening to the increscent bitching.
I have heard that something is up, and it may have more to do with defections than firing. It isn't my right to say any more, so alerting people to keep their eyes open, is all about sunshine and brightness. Don't bring any rain to the parade, okay?
