2017 is already off to a nice start... if anyone that hasn't been caught cheating multiple times in the past ten years wins the Super Bowl then it's off to a roaring start.....

Dabo after the game: "greatness is for all us, not just the Alabamas, Ohio States, Notre Dames."

Wait, you're saying ND can be great too?
So, we have a chance to get him?

This state is about to unbearable for a while. Clemson fans are obnoxious at best without having a Natty to lord over us others.

However between Dustin Johnson, Coastal Carolina and Clemson, this state is enjoying great success in sports at the national level.

Congrats to Clemson. They made the plays when they needed them. Can't say enough about how they handled the situation, particularly D. Watson. And now maybe Dabo gets a little more of the respect he deserves.

I hated that we lost, but you can't win 'em all and it was a heck of a good game. Clemson just made the plays down the stretch, they have an outstanding team, Watson' s impressive as hell, and I'm glad to see Dabo succeed and get the respect he's earned.

Like I've always said, "there is only one letter difference between SEC and SEX. When it's good, it is good and when it's bad, people cry.

Dabo must have been in the champagne a little early with that statement-we are not in the category.

The opposite, ND will never be out of that category.

Shows how people in the business think, even a youngin' form the south like Dabo.

I'm sure there are people who think I'm a troll but no one and I mean no one loves Notre Dame more than me. My students give me Notre Dame gear at xmas. It is about time that the fan base comes to grips with reality. I just watched 2 minor league pro football franchises go at it for the NC and brother those days are gone at Notre Dame. I was actually hoping for an Alabama blowout not because I dislike Clemson but for the fact that I thought it may bring some change in admissions, student life, classes taken or at least raise the question what is going on today at these schools. As a person who has followed Notre Dame since Ara's first year unless the culture is allowed to change Notre Dame gets no better. 7/5 8/5 with insignificant bowl win is about all your going to get. I now follow my beloved Irish with a different set of rules-I follow a team a college kids just trying to keep their heads above water. if you come away from last nights game with anything else your just kidding yourself.

Serious question: How did Clemson beat Bama with (per the recruiting services) less HS talent than ND has?

Another question: What was last year's record?

I started going to games in Ara's era also. This isn't over quit yet. ND in nowhere near reaching the Northwestern-Duke-Vandy levels of apathetic woeismedom. After that they'd have to sink to Rice & Tulane's tier, then on to Patriot, Colonial or Ivy League obscurity. When will it really be time to give up? When you circle the date for the big homecoming game vs University of Chicago.

Disagree............Many said ND would never win again, because they couldn't get the top kids to come to a cold weather school that hadn't done anything since Lou left. Until BK, it was just a bunch of bad HC hires. Kelly has shown you can still get top talent. Kelly missed badly on BVG which really hurt the program. JS has a few years under his belt now. I think he knows what is needed in a coach. When BK is gone I see a very good hire being made.

I really like this guy too. He has taken some heat on this board for how goofy he can be but Dabo gets it. Heard some cool things about him on how he recruits high character kids out of high school. He watches them as they come through the door and if they hold the door for their mom. What kind of hand shake they have, do they look him in the eye and do they answer yes sir or no sir. He actually does push graduation with his players because of his humble beginnings and being the first to graduate from college. Say what you want but his players love him and respect him as an authority figure. This day and age with the entitlement issues going on with 18-20 year olds.... That's saying a lot about who Dabo Sweeney is.
