It’ll be absolutely hilarious when both Miami and Indiana are ahead of us Tuesday. Literally nothing can justify it but it will happen.
No it won’t. Miami and Indiana both beat no one yet. Hope Miami hangs in the top 10 at least though and SMU sneaks into the top25.

A couple of take aways.

All year, the defense has been adjusting and reacting to what the opposing offense is doing. The game planning feels like adjusting to what the offense is presenting. This is the first game in 2026 that the defense said "we are going to come get you, react to us" Miami didn't have adjustments. I think this is because Freeman asserted himself into the defensive scheme.

Walton and Premier each was on the field at key times. Both are starting to understand the pass pro requirements/needs which has likely been holding each back. Walton was actually pretty good. Premier was targeted on a red zone play (if I'm not mistaken). I think that's an acknowldgement that if he can be adequate in pass pro, he offers something the other tight ends don't. If he can't be adequate, the other TE's get the snaps.

Offense still feels vanilla. I don't know if that's Carr or Dembrock. There were a few Carr check downs to receivers short of the 1st down line that were head shaking during the 3 and out portion of the game. Sometimes it feels like CJ is Kurt Cousins and just checks down to the safe play without much hope of getting a first down.
Disagree about Carr. He was clearly being ordered to minimize risk.

Anyone else listening to the Rudy soundtrack this morning?!

Also, I think there's going to be fierce outcry from many corners of college football if they rank Miami ahead of us after moving us behind them because of the H2H result last year.

People hate us, but they might hate the CFB Committee corruption even more.
Miami’s close win over FSU and close win over NC need to be looked at. We have not had close wins over anyone. Even the Miami win should have been a 2-3 score win. Nice shank on the FG.

ESPN is watching, they understand that if the committee looks too corrupt, a lawsuit will be filed by someone.

Im curious to see if this unlocks a new CJ Carr.

Coming out on the winning side of a big game (and playing well in it!) could have some benefits down the road.
I think him and the whole team could be unlocked. Imagine how much pressure they have been playing with since week 2 of last year

This is what the snap share should look like the rest of the way

Walton was fantastic in pass pro last night

Swap Walton and James. When we want to ground and pound it Walton is the guy not James. That stop that was put on him shows his lack of size and push. Walton is our bruiser. Too bad Kedron Young can’t get any Carrie’s between the tackles. He’s a heavy banger.

What a shitty long week. Had my father's funeral yesterday, didn't even feel like watching the game. Glad to see the boys prevailed.
Prayers for your father, you, and all of your family.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
Still miss my father, almost 40 years later.

For games I was at I’d go.

2005 USC
Last night vs Miami
(close)Playoff Indiana

2023 USC tied 2014 Michigan

Edit; As far as a complete game atmosphere, the Stanford goal line stand as a moment is up there
Well you’re lucky AF to have been at all those games. Kudos for being there!

I remember being annoyed at Blackledge about that, but it was a legal play. They ran the same play that we did with Faison, with Barkate catching the ball behind the line of scrimmage so the WR can block downfield.
You’re right the one he caught behind the line was a legal play. There was a separate one on one of Miami’s 3Q drives where it looked like someone, maybe Shuler?, was knocked down as well the ended up going for a decent gain iirc. I don’t think we ever got a great angle in it though.

It’s not being hotly debated. It’s a bunch of morons pretending if you touch the ball while in the end zone that’s a touchdown.
it is if someone has possession of the ball, BUT he hadn't established possession. all the refs did was rule it like they would've ruled it in the field of play. that's easily an incomplete pass if he never would've stepped out of bounds.
