A couple of take aways.
All year, the defense has been adjusting and reacting to what the opposing offense is doing. The game planning feels like adjusting to what the offense is presenting. This is the first game in 2026 that the defense said "we are going to come get you, react to us" Miami didn't have adjustments. I think this is because Freeman asserted himself into the defensive scheme.
Walton and Premier each was on the field at key times. Both are starting to understand the pass pro requirements/needs which has likely been holding each back. Walton was actually pretty good. Premier was targeted on a red zone play (if I'm not mistaken). I think that's an acknowldgement that if he can be adequate in pass pro, he offers something the other tight ends don't. If he can't be adequate, the other TE's get the snaps.
Offense still feels vanilla. I don't know if that's Carr or Dembrock. There were a few Carr check downs to receivers short of the 1st down line that were head shaking during the 3 and out portion of the game. Sometimes it feels like CJ is Kurt Cousins and just checks down to the safe play without much hope of getting a first down.
