Playcalls we weak out of the gate. The time to bury teams on the road is right out of the gate. You either run the ball down their throat or you run a 9 route to start the game.

The better team lost tonight because the coaches called a scared game. The players pick up on that really fast and it showed.

By the time our team felt like the better team, it was midway through the fourth quarter.

I really think that guys respond to confidence, and when your game plan is "we're scared to do anything except throw the ball to the flats" I dunno how you expect to be successful. I am truly shocked that was what Denbrock showed up with. I thought he might keep the training wheels on Carr, but I thought if he did it would mean giving Price and Love 20+ carries each.

Exactly. 40+ runs with a lot of play action boots and maybe some slants off RPO's.

Lol it's comedy to see people call overreacting bed wetting. WTF that's what we do. The games been over for ten minutes. I personally do it and will allow it until it's shown to be fixed
You're pro-overreaction? What word or phrase would you like applied to overreaction, if not bedwetting?

  • Miami has a pretty good team. Big and talented in the trenches and good QB.
  • CJ is really tough and talented. Will be a total stud for us by the time November rolls around. Just needs to avoid some hits.
  • Hated Denbrock’s play calling most of the game. Felt like he went too much into getting CJ easy throws early.
  • Need to get Love and Price more touches - goes without saying only 20 total between them in a big game isn’t good enough by the OC.
  • Defense played fine, just felt like we lacked some girth at DT.
  • Mario is never beating the allegations. Settling for a 48 yarder with a kicker that was 4/11 was uh, something.
  • Still a good team, but A&M will be a battle though.

Box score review is head scratching. Albeit we played down for the entire 2nd half, but RBs with 16 carries is hard to believe. No catches for Pauling or Greathouse. Raridon with 2 drops. Losing the turnover margin 2-0. We were lucky to even be in the game at the end

In my heart of hearts, I truly believe the team packs it in midway through the 3rd and loses by three touchdowns if BK is still steering the ship.

There’s alot to hate tonight, but this team will still battle for 60 full minutes hell or high water

That’s just how it’s going to be unless we join a conference. Good teams aren’t going to reliably schedule us in the middle or tail end of the season when they’re in the thick of conference play.
No one wants to hear that. We need to fully
Join the ACC but we are stuck in the late 80’s early 90’s and never will.

The good:

Denbrock called a terrible game, but I think a lot of that is chalked up to not trusting Carr in this spot. That will hopefully fade as Carr gets his feet wet.

Not worried about the whole defense yet. First game without crazy old vets, new coordinator and 10 of Miami's points were improbable and/or the result of turnovers.

Carr appears to be Him.

Fields made the sort of play that playmaker should make when given the opportunity.

The bad:

Last year Rudolph appeared to have a magic touch with his ability to move the OL around with little drop-off. I wonder if he got too cute with this group. OL had massive breakdowns in assignment and capablity when it mattered most.

Christian Gray probably had a good game statistically but its going to be another year of holding your breath with him because he's going to get picked on as the de facto weakest link on a aggressive man defense.

The Ugly:

Denbrock's game plan until we went down double digits.

The middle 8.

Carson Beck.

Agree with all that

We wont know what we have till the next game.

If theres struggles on the Oline again and JLove doesnt get touches, we might be in trouble

Till then? If that holy shit catch didnt happen? Who knows

CJ *flashed*

We'll see 2 weeks from now

Freeman teams always go down fighting. There were several points where they could've laid down and died but they kept going.

I wish I had your optimism. All I saw was poor coaching & poor fundamentals. All the haters were proven right tonight.

Overreacting is what being a sports fan is all about. I will be level headed during real life emergencies. Just give me a few hours a week to freak out at the tv.
Especially when they are being paid now

Tough loss.

I'd grade it..

HC - C
OC - D-
DC - D+
QB - B
RB - Price (A) Love (B)
WR - C
TE - C
OL - D-
DL - C
MLB - C
CB - C
S - C-
K - B+
KR - C
PR - C

10-2 seems likely

This isn’t a negative post because obviously I can’t see every play, but did Devonta Smith and Jaylen Sneed even play?

Conversely, even when he wasn’t making plays, Traore was being disruptive. I’ll be surprised if a double digit sack season isn’t loading assuming he remains healthy.
