Floyd has made a career out of not getting hit. His defensive abilities have done quite a bit to keep him young in the sport of boxing. He also doesn't drink alcohol or smoke or anything like that and trains like maniac.
The truth will really never come out for either the reason they didn't fight earlier and whether Manny was ever taking PEDs.
I personally side with the idea that Manny wouldn't adhere to Floyds demand for multiple blood tests for both fighters throughout training and right up to the fight because he had something to hide.
PAC could have just aged poorly and lost his KO power or he could have deteriorated after using roids.. I don't know
I don't really like Floyd as a person but I respect his boxing ability.
Anybody watch the Outside the Lines about Mayweather? This dude has five CONVICTIONS for domestic violence and several other accusations that didn't go to court.
How does the Nevada SAC not only allow him to fight, but also go completely unpunished for any of his convictions? Can you imagine the NFL, NBA, NHL or MLB let a player continuously go unpunished for this type of thing?
I'll be rooting for Manny, thanks.
The Trouble With Floyd Mayweather
mayweather has ducked too many fights in his career for me to ever really respect his undefeated record in any way.
after he won the split over delahoya, he "retires". no rematch.
he should have taken this fight with many 5 yrs ago.
to me this thing is just a money making exhibition.
mayweather is an undefeated fighter but not a great fighter.
he is the IE equivalent of an SEC team that pads its schedule with cupcake opponents...
when your own father decides to train the fighter you are fighting...you have to be a POS.

He is an odd POS but I'll always consider him one of the greatest.
I guess boxing is dead to me. Just knowing that every guy at their weight in MMA would make them scream for their bodyguards kills it for me.

I would say that "odd" is a bit of an understatement for a guy that has been convicted of beating the shit out of women five times and accused more than double that. Pair that with his terrible personality, vulgarity and outright disregard for respect for anyone... I would refer to him more as human scum...
He is a great fighter though... Just a horrible human being...
Are you for real? Domestic battery isn't a marketing campaign. You fall right into his marketing. You are his biggest fans, his haters.
Have you met him in person? Don't believe what you see in the media. He purposely does this and then quiet does good deeds that go unnoticed.
He is a marketing genius and one of the smartest boxing marketers ever.
And if you hate Mayweather, you must hate Tyson. He is no saint.

No, seriously- I'm dying to hear how beating women is "part of the plan". Please, enlighten us.There's always one idiot who will defend a woman beater just because he's a good athlete.

Like everyone else says.... He's a woman beater and apparently a calculated one. According to you, he only beats the ones who build his brand. What is even more genius is he does it at the right times to avoid prosecution and banishment from his sport like any other sport. What? He's actually been convicted, multiple times? No! There is no way he'd still be earning a check if that were true. Right?
Oh, and what ever you do don't compare him to Tyson. Tyson was a wackadoodle but he put people to sleep. Floyd just puts the viewers to sleep.
.
Strictly on the boxing point.. Floyd does not put a religious boxing fan to sleep. The viewers that tune in for a blood bath always feel like that. A fan that appreciates calculated moves, strategy and elite counter punching finds Floyd exhilarating to watch.
Part of me does want to see Floyd get K'ed the F out, just to see how that ego would take it.
I agree but you can appreciate it as its own art. Take the Diaz brothers for example. They're great all around fighters but their boxing is on point, and its beautiful to watch.
They are completely different sports and disciplines. While I also enjoy MMA and how awesome and talented the fighters in the sport are boxing is much more of an are than MMA. They are more precise and clean in their punches. If boxers learned the different techniques of MMA they would be fine. If MMA fighters paid more attention to boxing their style would look a lot less sloppy.

Jennings is paying 14 to 1. This is like the Miami Dolphins versus Booker T. Washington High School. What boxing need is a good old fashioned scandal. If Jennings were to win tonight under dubious circumstances, the hype for next weekend would be outrageous. For the current state of boxing, look no further than the fact that undefeated American heavyweight Bryant Jennings is fighting Wladimir Klitschko tonight in Madison Square Garden for all his title belts, and absolutely no one seems to even know about it. Granted, it probably won't be much of a fight, but it's the sort of event that would've been big news a couple decades ago and is hardly a blip on the radar now.

Yeah, we know he purposely beats on women but please continue on making excuses for a woman beater.
So pathetic.
People talk about how much better MMA fights are, but I think that they suffer from the same uneven pace that most boxing matches do. A lot of stalking and measuring, off-the-mark strikes, and then the guys wind up hugging on the ground, which is the MMA equivalent of tired boxers locking each other up on the ropes. Occasionally, you get a real burn-burner, but I don't see MMA fights being consistently more exciting than boxing. But you can't argue that it has captured the minds of the next generation of fight fans.
