i understand he had shoulder injuries etc...but my goodness is this kid still skinny

I must be looking with a different set of eye. He's skinny around the waste but looks pretty thick elsewhere. I wouldn't classify him as skinny.

Swell. (swole?) But - not to be a downer - all those stud athletes didn't exactly translate into a ton of winning football games for UConn.

All accounts have this S&C staff really putting in work. I'm excited to see a fiery group against Temple.

That kid is an Ox. Don't forget the old man did a box squat, and used no hands.. Would love to see what he could do on a traditional squat. I bet in the 700-800s.

Kids wearing gear. Still impressive though. Coach probably has shot shoulders, hence the SSB.

Too bad that kid doesn't do Olympic Lifting. My Olympic Coach brother (boss of Team Houston and part of the US Men's Olympic Staff) could have helped make him into a medal threat someday. Lord 'lone knows the USA could use a male medaller in that sport (my brother's athlete who won a Rio medal was a female --- first US medal in decades.)

Kid (Joe) was class of 2017 at my kids school. They attend Holy Cross of San Antonio. Joe was in the weight room everyday. Great kid, very respectful to his elders. Oh, his girlfriend also lifts. See them lifting everyday.

Indiana: Dave Ballou will be the strength and conditioning coach at Indiana, sources tell FootballScoop. Ballou is currently the co-director of strength and conditioning at Notre Dame, and prior to that was the physical conditioning coach at IMG Academy. He also holds experience in the Indiana high school ranks, as does IU head coach Tom Allen. Ballou is a former Hoosier fullback and was recognized as the Hoosier Strength Challenge champion during his time on the roster.

Great share.

Any old ND fans think we'd ever have a promo video with a song like "Stunt" playing?

I doubt they would make an announcement for an assistant in the S&C program. But, I looked at the coaching job and they brought in Robert Stiner in this year. Did he replace the guy that went to IU? I don't know, but Robert Stiner is new.

Robert Stiner is in his first year in 2018 as assistant director of football strength and conditioning at Notre Dame. He is a certified strength and conditioning coach through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association.
Stiner joined the Notre Dame staff after a one-year stint at the University of Cincinnati (2017), where he served as an assistant director of football sports performance. He assisted in the design and implementation of training protocol, taught proper lifting technique, tested and analyzed data. Stiner also served as the nutrition liaison for the student-athletes. He worked with various forms of technology including Zephyr, GPS, Omegawave, EliteForm and NovoTHOR bed.

Stiner came to Central Arkansas from Mississippi State where he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach for three years (2012-14). He had previous stops as an intern at LSU (2011-12), strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Valdosta State (2009-11), along with internships at Baylor (2010) and the U.S. Olympic Training Center (2009).

After reading that, you can tell Balis is definitely still using science to get results and prevent injuries.

Was Stiner at Miss St with Balis. If so, he was probably Balis’s hire which is a great thing

Ballou came from Avon HS (Indy suburb) and IMG if I remember correctly. Stiner has a lot of experience in the collegiate ranks, so this may be an upgrade for the program.
