I think he’s a very good coach, but Freeman’s mentality and aggressiveness is going to enable creative and strong special teams play no matter what IMO.

I find this one very surprising moreso than disappointing

A common theme for these coaching searches is that often an agreement is in place before a formal offer of out.

Broke OSU boys can’t afford to pay a special team coaches buyout…

So, one of the big reasons I wanted him to stay were for those borderline spectacular fake punt play designs.

Then I listened to power hour where they discussed Biagi and mentioned those fakes are all Freeman plays that he came up with.... suddenly losing him doesn't feel like that big a deal.

Turns out when you win, your coaching staff ends up being in demand.

We all want a National Championship, and I believe one is coming soon, but when it does it's going to come with that demand even more than what we're seeing now. That's the consequence of the success we all want as fans, and ultimately, these dudes are not fans like us. These are just jobs to them.

Freeman's last two hires have been Seider and Partridge. Every vacancy is now a major opportunity.
