Freeman is a class act person, class act coach, and a class act recruiter. ND is lucky and ND's biggest threat will always be OSU, to me the NFL for Freeman is something to listen to every year. He mentions that we wants to retire here, this is easy for ND to allow him to.

Ummmmmm, hell yea

Whether he means it or not I hope he's learned that trying to finesse the conversation around leaving really only has downsides. When he leaves, he leaves. Until that happens his job is to act like leaving isn't even on his mind and to get kids to come play here for him.

It's not like the 2027 class is struggling because of it, but based on what we've heard his silence during the carousel is really the biggest (only?) bullet in the chamber neg recruiters have against ND right now.

The media is obsessed with trying to force coaches to pledge never ending loyalty to the programs and promise to never ever leave. And if they don't do that, it can only mean they are actively trying to get out of their contracts.

TBF to the beat there's been plenty of smoke about NFL interest and Freeman kicking the tires. I'm just surprised we are still taking about it so close to Fall Camp. We have a season to prepare for, he isn't going anywhere prior to 2027 (and hopefully much longer) no matter how many times or different ways you ask him.

If I were betting, MF will eventually be an NFL HC. The question is how soon. His response is perfect b/c he’s not actively searching so it’s fair to say he can’t see himself coaching anywhere. But when the right team makes the right offer at the right time, he has to pull the trigger.

As an ND fan, I look at him and think “you can do what no one has done in almost 40 years & do it multiple times ensuring yourself of ‘legend’ status”. But that’s my preference...not necessarily his.

It's not just MF, it's every coach who wins. They browbeat them and keeping asking the same question in a thousand different ways. They just want to create controversy because there is no way of answering the question to put people at ease.
