Lenzy styles Thomas colzie Tobias - that’s 5 heavily recruited 4 star wrs…. Freeman was allowed to get a portal qb and wr last year before the 22 season and didn’t

Wr is the easiest position to get on the field early, that and corner
Lenzy - A guy who's produced very little in 4 seasons.
Styles - A sophomore who slumped and was projected to be a corner.
Thomas - Another sophomore who was hurt in fall camp.
Colzie - See Thomas
Tobias - True freshman who didn't go through spring, and was injured for the 2nd half of the season.

You keep mentioning that Freeman was allowed to get a portal QB, but who were they getting? Who was available that was REALISTIC?

Pyne had significantly better offensive weapons than pitt and wvu, not even close

Look at Slovis with weapons at usc, had insane frosh year

It’s funny, I bet you expect our wrs you claim aren’t good to be really good this year lol. Cause that fits your narrative. When Thomas has 1000 yards receiving this year what will your excuse be for last year? Qb obviously. Wrs under Daniels and Slovis had great years, not under Buchner or pyne.

Facts are Slovis and Daniel’s played awesome when surrounded by good talent, they did not play as well on bum offenses. Pyne did not play well on a very talented offense, albeit young.
Smfh.

No, Pyne DIDN'T, and that's the problem. Pyne SHOULD have better weapons at ND than Slovis or Daniels at Pitt or WVU.

What's funny is you think I'm just making all this crap up to "fit my narrative".

Yeah, Thomas is a good receiver now. That's what we call DEVELOPMENT. He was young, unproven and coming off an injury a year ago. So yeah, not exactly a reliable receiver going into the year.

Also the "fact" that Slovis and Daniels played awesome while surrounded by good talent is definitely NOT a fact. So what happened to Slovis in 2021? I don't give a shit what occurred 4 years ago. USC was not a good team in '21, but he certainly had offensive talent to work with. At least I think. Is Drake London a good receiver? You seem to be the expert on this.

If Daniels and Slovis were AWESOME QBs, they wouldn't be at Rice and BYU right now. Again, you've put up, now SHUT UP.

Two qbs have played really good in college at different times, 2 qbs never played good and probably never will. We rolled with the latter 2. What downfall was there in getting a portal qb? Losing Buchner a terrible qb was only risk.

Didn’t get one response on my post on DEs in coverage, playing nickel in the red zone, how much will we spread teams out, who will be main slot wr, do we run much 2 tes? Does staes become a monster?

But I said freeman made some major mistakes leading into and during 2022 season…. 50 responses hammering, one agreeing, despite losing to Marshall and the worst Stanford team in a long time.

It really seems like a lot of posters would prefer to tell a poster they disagree with to stfu then discuss football.

Butterface
That statement speaks volumes. lol

Our former OC disagrees with your conclusion that Buchner is "terrible", considering he brought him to Tuscaloosa with him.

Losing your guy at QB is a pretty significant risk, and it's one I wouldn't wish to incur for the payoff of Kedon Slovis or JT Daniels. That's a high risk/low reward move.

Again, there's a reason why Slovis and Daniels are where they are right now. If they actually were really good QBs, they wouldn't be on their 3rd and 4th school respectively.

He probably thinks that 5 star Philure, also on his 3rd school, would have bailed us out too. That dude has been all talk.

We’ll see if Buchner or pyne start….

Other comment on Phil, it took one spring game to know he wasn’t going to be it

There are few that have been more critical of 5 Star Philure than me, but the whole perception of the Spring Game really needs to stop. It's not a perfect indicator of talent or potential. For every Junior Jabbie spring star that blows up the B&G game there's a DeShone Kizer that stinks up the field and is considering quitting football. Junior Jabbie never repeated that performance, while Kizer went from 3rd string to starter when Golson transferred and Zaire got hurt...had a pretty good year in the end. There's probably a lot more Jabbies than their are Kizers though: Jahmir Smith, Jafar Armstrong, Michael Young, CJ Holmes, Greg Bryant, etc

I agree, but there was next to no attention on kizer leading into that spring game (as you mention he was 3rd string), he had minimal work going in where as phil was a big focus on the game to see what he had.

Phil came in as an athletic QB that could throw the ball, with his weight gain he lost all athleticism and had no clue in the pocket. It was unbelievably bad for a qb in a spring game that had a lot of prep going in.

I fear Putup may be our old friend once again.
I'll stick up for the lad. His join date was July 2022, so unless our friend ND1988/TorpedoVegas/whatever the fuck had the foresight and plan to open Putuporshutup's account about 6 months before he started going crazy posting, then it's not him. And if it is him somehow, that's some next level trolling. Haha

Yea tough being an OSU fan without a Natty recently too. Day will be on the hot seat after this year.

Surprised Auburn, Miami are already on the BCR List.

Harbaugh ranked ahead of Dabo was the first kick in the dick of this list's credibility.

Then I saw James Franklin in the Top 10 and immediately stopped. I'm onto the next thread. JFC.

Ha ha.... you are worried about being banned. ;)
Ha… no… I’ll always shoot straight

I can’t believe we had a head coach completely learn on the job as much as last year but he does have major upside in todays game with recruiting not only players but coaches

From this article.

ISD: It might be obvious, but some of the recent linebacker and safety offers, you have prioritized the ability to run. Is that something fair to say?

Marcus Freeman:
An elite trait is the ability to run. We want to continue to increase our overall team speed. We’re looking for verified times - 40 times, track times. We need guys who have proven they can run because this game has continued to get faster and faster.

BK had started to place a certain level of importance on verified speed. I think Freeman has taken it up a notch. If you’re not landing the top several prospects at various positions then move on to the athletes. Which is what I think we’ve seen in this class.

As BobbyMac once posted, if you’re going to miss, miss fast.

Ara was big on moving kids around to get the best athletes on the field. Lou was big on getting the fastest players on the field after seeing what Jimmy Johnson was doing. Verifying times sure has reduced the number of kids that run a 4.2X or 4.3X today compared to kids 20-25 years ago. lol
