My favorite part about MFMF is that he keeps the foot on the pedal. I’m sure Denbrock having full control of the offense is part of it, but you don’t let Angeli throw the ball 6 times to start the first garbage time drive without the HC’s blessing.
BK’s team probably wins that game 31-14 in a game that wasn’t nearly as close as the score would’ve indicated, and a bunch of key youngsters would’ve missed out on 20 plays worth of live game reps because of it.
How do you build a program that competes for championships yearly? Beat teams bad enough that your depth players and talented freshman go into the offseason with plenty of reps under their belt.. then supplement with elite recruits and transfer portal targets where necessary.
MFMF has ND pretty well-rounded right now. I think the team can make a run if they handle business next week and avoid Lincoln Riley blowing his entire load of offensive acumen in an upset bid. There isn’t a single dominant team except maybe Oregon or OSU, but Oregon is largely untested with the exception of one game, and OSU’s coach might not be as good a coach as our own at this point. And it’s amazing that ND looks capable of getting hot at the right time, on both sides of the ball, considering all the injuries.
I honestly think ND wins the natty handily this year by virtue of not allowing anyone to score more than 14 points in any given game if they had everyone on defense healthy. BenMo to go opposite Gray and his development, and two extra pass rushers to spell Junior/Bryce/Onye would have Golden playing on god mode.
The only thing that’s gonna hold this program back year-to-year at this point is missing at QB or missing a must-have portal target at a key position, or piling up injuries like this year… and they still might be able to shock everyone this year.
TL;DR put some respect on MFMF’s name
