LSU vs. Alabama has already been done. Sorry Tide fans, you had your shot and blew it. Next challenger step up.

The sad thing is, that if LSU does run the table. I dont think there is a single team outside of the SEC that has the complete team to beat them. LSUs offense does just enough to win, and their defense is wicked good at all positions.

How about if Arkansas beats LSU? What do you guys think should happen then?

Then Alabama goes the SEC championship, LSU drops to 2 and its the same thing.

So did all the other 1 loss teams. I would pick Alabama over every other single team in the country.

The funny thing is, LSU has no Heisman candidates. That is a crazy thought.

Only care about Notre Dame's last game plus whoever Irish play in a bowl. Other stuff will continue to be a snooze until the NCAA turns to a tournament that involves 16 to 25 teams.

They shouldn't.

Their offense was stifled by Bama and their defense is crap.

Their defense has been without a few of their starters for most of the year. They have them back now and they have made a difference. I'm not saying they are anywhere near the caliber of an LSU or an Alabama, but saying their crap may not be reasonable.

I thought the question is would you watch it. Not do you think it is the right 2 teams. So I will clarify my answer.

Do I thin Bama should get another shot? No. Will I watch it? Yes. After all, it is college football, and its a long 9 months to the next game. Which is why you'll find me watching the beef o bradys bowl as well.

I'd watch it. I do think it'd be a bit lame if Ella's Shoe lost to 'Bama in the championship, but 'Bama is probably the most deserving 1 loss in there. And yeah, Houston is in a bogus conference, but I'd like to see what Keenum could do.

I'm for it, just because no one else deserves it. Virginia Tech has played nobody, OK State plays no D, Stanford got smoked by Oregon. I hate Boise State so thank god they lost to TCU or else everyone would be pushing for them to be #2.

I dont like the idea of a rematch, but in all honesty, I dont think anyone else other than Alabama could give LSU a run for their money. That LSU team is just a monster.

Will i watch? No because I don't like either team at all. Would i be cool with it? Yes because having that game would mean the ND served Stanford up a second loss and eliminated all hope from them.

I like the way you think here. Even though you make no sense, I like the way you think.

pretty much i was trying to get excited about our game. My logic was if we wouldve beat stnford with two loses any hope whatsoever for them getting into the NC would be gone therefore making that a possible scenario. Either way back to the point of the thread I wouldnt watch I hate bama and LSU and I have things Id rather do than watch a team I hate get a bunch of glory.

I hope Georgia is starting to feel disrespected with all this talk about LSU gliding into the NC game. I really hope they squash their dreams and lay it to them.

I would find it hard to believe that LSU would not be in the Championship game if they lost to Georgia.

I believe that Bama and LSU are the 2 best teams in the country, howvere, the regular season is supposed to be a playoff. If that is the case then Alabama had their shot and are now out.

OK ST or Stanford should get a shot at LSU if (when) they beat UGA

Except that OKST and Stanford both lost as well. Argument foiled.

lol exactly. I have no prob with teams repeating, it would happen in playoffs. A rule that maybe should be in place is that if you dont win your division you cant play in champ game no matter bcs rank. Course with that rule and a lsu and ok st loss it would be like bcs #5 vs #8 or something. I say just scrap the season and start all over this saturday ND49 Bulls3

Haha, the point is that there are no undefeated teams to play LSU, unless you think Houston should. Of the 1 loss teams, Bama had there shot at #1, OK St and Stanford have not. If Oregon was in the discussion, I would say they should be out too.

Agree with Clark, no conference win means no championship game but that rule won't fly. This would have been a perfect year for Boise but they fugged up too.

This is why the bcs is messed up. Sure, LSU and Bama are the two best teams in the country on paper. But LSU and Bama already played. It happened. We know who's better. Because. they. played. the. game. already. Honestly it's disrespectful to LSU to make them play the same team that they already beat. At home. LSU vs. Okie St. You know why I want to watch that game? Because I don't know who would win if those two met... and that the f'ing point of playing the game!

(and for those who would respond by saying that lsu might not beat bama the second time. Ask yourself this, should lsu even have to? And what does that say about the BCS system?)

Bama had their shot and lost by 3 points. I can't say that any other team in the nation would give them a game except Alabama. Can you honestly say that another team is the 2nd best in the country not named Alabama? I can't.

OKSt lost to IowaSt., Stanford go trucked by Oregon who got trucked by LSU. I really don't care who you want to see. Because I would like to see ND vs someone in that game. The fact of the matter is that LSU & Alabama are the 2 best teams in the land.

Except that they lost to IowaSt. and Bama lost by 3 points to the #1 team in the land. IMHO LSU & Bama would beat anyone on a neutral field this year. Therefore they are #1 & #2.

Correct.

I'm a firm believer in the idea that the two best teams in college football should play in the national championship game, and those two teams are clearly LSU and Alabama.

It's just not fair to LSU to have them play Alabama again. Why?

Because LSU played a schedule 10x harder than Alabamas... and went undefeated... and beat Alabama head to head.... so now we're going to sit here and say "yeah, we know LSU already beat you IN YOUR OWN HOUSE, has a much better resume, won your half of the conference, and would have a better on-paper resume than you even if you beat them.... but we'll go ahead and give you a mulligan and if you win you get a trophy you don't deserve."

I just sincerely hope that if Alabama beats LSU in the national championship that the AP still has the stones and common sense to vote LSU #1.
