Bama's offense just got way more dynamic and aggressive which is bad news for everyone else. If their QB sucks then maybe not.

+1. Regardless of how you feel about Kiffin, this is a bold move by Saban to crank up his offense. Probably realized after 2 games vs Johnny FB that a stout D won't always work.

Agree. I think it is Saban realizing that he has to progress his offense. Wonder Boy runs a pro style offense much like what Bama has ran under Saban so it will be interesting to see what Lane does to elevate it - if he can.

Auburn has the Gus Bus... we now have the Lane Train.

And Kiffen... he still has Layla. She should be worth four or so first place votes in the polls.

with a conductor who sets fire to the cargo, yet magically derails his train onto pillowy fields of rainbow showers and gumdrops, EVERY TIME... it's spooky, man. Get off while you can...

It's a shame that anyone Kiffin recruited at UT probably won't be there anymore, maybe some 5th years if there are any. I could see them coming out fired up and play a decent game against their former coach. If anything it would be a good story. As it stands, they probably roll over next season again.

I hate reality TV, but I would watch a show highlighting Saban and Kiffin's day-to-day interactions with each other.

Kiffin is the living breathing definition of the Peter Principle:

The Peter Principle is a management theory which suggests that organizations risk filling management roles with people who are incompetent if they promote those who are performing well at their current role, rather than those who have proven abilities at the intended role. It is named after Laurence J. Peter who co-authored the 1969 humorous book The Peter Principle: Why Things Always Go Wrong with Raymond Hull. They suggest that people will tend to be promoted until they reach their "position of maximum incompetence".

I don't expect any problems. This is Kiffin's chance to turn his career around and get back in the game. If he does well as our OC, then he becomes a hot commodity again and may even get another shot at a HC job in a few years. If he doesn't grow up and he has problems in Tuscaloosa, he's finished in the big leagues. No doubt he understands this and I'm sure Saban's made it abundantly clear to him who's the boss and what's expected of him. I believe Kiffin will likely keep his mouth shut and toe the line, and hopefully jack our O up a couple of notches.

I've seen some pics of her where she's seriously hot, but some others where she's nothing to write home about. Good looking woman when she smiles. Other times, she just looks sort of flat-faced and so-so at best.

Don't confuse Peter Principle with peter puffer.

My take, the Dunning-Kruger effect, or Dilbert Principle is more appropriate :

Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert the cartoon series, later proposed in his 1996 book, The Dilbert Principle that 'the least smart people are promoted, simply because they’re the ones you don't want doing actual work', in other words people are promoted because of their incompetence in that of their current role, rather than their competence.

Huge mistake by Sabin. Beginning of the end of Bama dynasty.

Davis? Hardly. He had been with Saban for several years before going to Texas. If anything, it is a safe hire. One has to think his three years at Texas will help him somewhat in recruiting there.

I think Bama missed their chance with Roc early on when they slow played him. He would have crawled to Bama to play there. Would be shocked if we flip him.

I'm skeptical Lane will help recruiting. There are Cali kids that flat out would not play at USC while he was there (JuJu, etc). He's a terrible coach, a slime ball, will tell you one thing/do another kind of person. Don't get me wrong, Bama will still pull top classes. I just don't think Lane will have anything to do with it.

Disassociated Alabama Booster Continues to Own Bama Program : Outkick The Coverage
Well, our old buddy Tom has a new website and a new business, he's dropped the suits. Now he just sells Crimson Tide memorabilia.

So what's on the front page of the website?

Autographed jerseys from AJ McCarron, TJ Yeldon, and Amari Cooper.

Two of these guys are current players for the Crimson Tide.

That's an NCAA violation.

Displaying the jerseys in this manner is also a direct violation of the requirements Alabama laid out in this disassociation letter that it sent nearly three years ago to Al-betar.

In its letter disassociating him from the program Alabama instructed Al-betar as follows, "You should refrain from obtaining any items of memorabilia from our student-athletes, including used equipment and apparel. You should also refrain from obtaining autographs from our student-athletes when they are in your store."

Despite Alabama's hectoring letter, Al-betar didn't just "refrain from obtaining any items of memorabilia from our student-athletes," he opened a memorabilia store designed to sell these objects!

Just scroll through the products available for sale here -- whether it's the gloves that Christion Jones wore in the Virginia Tech game -- just $1200, but you can get his game-worn signed cleats for just $950 -- Kenyan Drake's LSU game gloves, also just $1200 -- there are also Drake jerseys and cleats for sale -- or Vinnie Sunseri's gloves from Texas A&M. Heck, how about CJ Mosley's gloves too, also from the big Texas A&M game.

How about TJ Yeldon jerseys and signed gloves too?

He's got that too.

Heck, he even has signed TJ Yeldon wristbands from the Texas A&M game.

But what if you want wide receiver Amari Cooper's signed gloves or footballs? Don't worry, Al-betar's got you covered there too.

But maybe you're thinking, screw that, I need the whole 2012 team's autograph on a helmet.

You're in luck!

Just scroll through the gallery, if you're a top player you've probably got gear for sale.

Heck, even if you aren't a top player, you've probably got gear for sale too.

By my count there are 11 currently eligible Alabama players selling game-worn gear on this site.

Eleven!

That list includes TJ Yeldon, Amari Cooper, Caleb Castille, Deion Belue, Christion Jones, Jeoffrey Pagan, Dee Hart, Kenyan Drake, Adrian Hubbard, Xzavier Dickson, and Kenny Bell.

All eleven of these players didn't just sign autographs, they signed either jerseys, cleats, wristbands, or gloves.

Some signed all four.

It's amazing how eleven of these Alabama players are kind enough to just give away their gear for free to a memorabilia store owner.

They're so nice!

I'm sure they had no idea it would be put up for sale.

And I'm sure they're getting nothing for it either.

Just the sweetest boys possible.

Al-betar seems to have a very good relationship with bunches of Alabama players, including quarterback AJ McCarron, who even liked to hang out in the store with his girlfriend Katherine Webb.

You can see a whole series of AJ hanging out in the store photos here.

AJ's in at least 13 or 14 different outfits, meaning he made a regular habit of signing autographs and hanging out in a mall store that then sold his autographs.

He even brought his mom by.

That's completely normal, right?

I mean, raise your hand if you weren't friends with an old guy who ran a mall store while you were in college.

There's nothing to see here at all.

Move right along.

Alabama's compliance office has got this covered.

They're on it, guys.

Look, I don't begrudge any player getting paid for his autograph, but if you don't think it's hysterical that a mall-store owner in Tuscaloosa holds Nick Saban's entire legacy in the palm of his hand, you aren't a college football fan.

If Al-betar ever talked, Nick Saban's dynasty would be a smoldering pile of ruins.

Indeed, Al-betar may be the only guy in Tuscaloosa who doesn't give a damn what Nick Saban says. (That's probably why the players like him.) Because he's still hanging out with players and violating NCAA rules by having current players sign jerseys, cleats, wrist bands, and gloves that they know will then be sold.

God bless you, Tom, I'm actually becoming a fan of yours. Unlike the NCAA, at least you're paying the players for their work.

But I think it's definitely time for Alabama to send him another letter.

Roll -- disassociated booster -- Tide, y'all

First comment I saw on that article "Not one tree in your yard will survive this article posting Clay. Good job"

And that's pretty shady...what's the university going to claim? That the equipment is getting stolen?
