Saw this on ESPN and thought it was an interesting topic.

If you were a neutral fan which game would you go to this weekend?

I'd go to LA for the weather and for the offense. Bama v. LSU is the "bigger" game though. Both favorites win though handily, IMO.

L.A. There will be some major talent at that game. And I'm not talking about on the football field.

+1. I'll say atmosphere instead of weather though. Never been to L.A.; been to La. several times.

I will never go back to Louisiana willingly...

Aside from New Orleans, which I remember as a charming city, I can understand.

As for the OP's question, I might actually be more inclined to visit Louisiana for the game just to experience what I imagine would be a pretty intense environment.

I think the Oregon vs USC game will be higher scoring and thus more fun to watch live. I like defensive battles but those are way better on TV.

Southern California 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. I lived in SoCal for a while and wish that I could move back out there. I live in the South already and I know west of here until you get past Texas it doesn't get any better, in fact it gets worse.

If you can only go for the weekend, it's gotta be USC/Oregon. Having lived in both South Bend and Baton Rouge (Katrina relocation), I can confidently say that Baton Rouge may be the worst place in the developed world. Plus the USC/Oregon game is going to be way more fun to watch. Unless you hate the forward pass.

If you could make a week of it, though, and come down for Halloween in New Orleans? Not even a contest. There are 4 things to do in NOLA before you die: 1) Mardi Gras; 2) Super Bowl/NCAA Championship with your team; 3) Jazz Fest; and 4) Halloween on Frenchmen Street.

I would definitely go to LSU. That is the better game day atmosphere. Plus, then I can go somewhere and get some crawfish etouffee and Abita. ;)

I will agree with you regarding NOLA and those 4 activities. I was in NOLA when Chris Webber called a timeout. That was awesome sauce, with everyone yelling "timeout" at Michigan fans. Was at 4 straight years of the other 3 events. It is insane. But Jazz Fest is probably the only one I'd want to go back to, honestly. Being pressed on by drunk people on every side of you while you walk down Bourbon St. is not as fun as it was when I was 20.

I hear ya -- maybe I should've called it "4 things to do exactly once in NOLA before you die." I'm still in my 20s, and I've long been at the point that I only go downtown for Mardi Gras if I've got someone visiting for the first time. These days, I'll usually hang in Mid-City with my buddies and catch the parades before they get into the drunken mess in the Quarter.

Jazz Fest, though, has only gotten better with age. It seems like every year, I've got 2 or 3 more out-of-towners camping out at my house for those weeks (I packed 9 people into a 2 bedroom shotgun this year; next year, I'm gonna have to set up my tent in the backyard). I moved to the Bayou St. John neighborhood when I came back here, so I'm about a 20 minute walk to the Fairgrounds. The Fest is right at the beginning of the festival season down here, too, which for my money is the best part of living in this city.

Because we all have a shot at those 14 girls. I'll take drunk SEC girls for 500 Alex.

I submit for your consideration...drunk SEC girls:

Small sample size, but if you start in the first row from left to right there are at least 3 legitimate smoke shows. Even the one in the bottom right (sorrority girl, black tank top), who's clearly the ugly friend in that crowd, is still pretty decent, and probably a lot of fun. Because her friends are so much hotter she's got to get attention some other way- like a reputation of being awesome at hummers or great in bed- otherwise she would be pretty much ignored. Low degree of difficulty here.

I care waaay more about the outcome of the game in L.A. (go Trojans?) but would enjoy the overall experience of going to La more.
