Hey now, i follow you so watch it...

joking aside,
TP most of us r frustrated. Im venting because i care. I dont wish bad things upon on any player, i just wish it didnt have to come down to this. these guys play for the greatest university in the world and it shouldnt ever come to the point where you need to have coaches and or fans light fires underneath them. We all want whats best for the team and its sad to me that this team doesnt have much if any fight in them.

This whole situation confuses me. I listened to BK's comments last night and honestly didn't think twice about it. The players are completely overreacting.

I think it's a combination of Aaron Taylor, the fans comments, and Kellys coments

Well it looks like Trevor Robinson deleted his initial twit convo with Rudy..

Twitter makes it too easy for these kids to make a fool of themselves.. it's funny.

Lou Holtz may have actually murdered one of these kids if they lashed back at him like that.. I don't care what the coach says in the media, the palyers are 4-3 when they could easily be 7-0..

As I've said elsewhere, these kids would be fired for their responses if they were working jobs in the real world.

Would they?

Would Te'o be fired for tweeting. "I am working for my coworkers"

Honestly, where did they cross the line?

Embarrassed by just how coddled and protected these players have been. You think this crap would go on at Alabama? Saban says things a million times harsher and the players don't even bat an eye.

I can see why the players were pissed. Still- Kelly shouldn't have divided his team like that to the media and they shouldn't have gone to twitter. Classic example of **** that should stay in the locker room.

I think their reaction is a bit of insight into what BK is dealing with at ND with these players and shows some truth to what he has been talking a lot about.

As would Brian Kelly for lighting into TJ Jones like that against USF. Lets not pretend football = traditional job.

What it exactly did he say that would have you so upset?

Props to whoever brought up the USC players quotes. I think a lot of the problem or a lot of the reason for the Kelly comments were due to none of our players stepping up to that. I can't believe that this team is more pissed about what Kelly said and just brushed off Galippo's comments.

Galippo stepped on our team's nuts and nobody stepped up. Then internally Brian Kelly basically challenged the upperclassmen's manhood and I guess that was too far. If this doesn't motivate these guys I don't know what will. I guess we will find out what they are made of tomorrow.

Good Lord - 193 posts and still nothing productive has come from this thread. How about we let this go until after the Navy game??? Let's talk about something that had meaning... rather than look at Kelly's comments from 9 different angles...

If you don't see how important extinguishing the sense of entitlement that has plagued this team for over 20 years, than I don't know how you expect this team to ever come back to glory.

Not productive? There is not one single thing that is more important for Kelly to fix than this. If this situation is what finally makes this generation of Notre Dame players understand what it takes to be champions, then I can't think of any thread ever started on this site that is more relevant and/or productive.

Message of the pep rally was team unity and getting passed this rift. Don't know if manti is passed it he usually always stands in the front the but he was standing in the very back row

I also listened to the Coach's conference before it blew up over twitter and I didn't think much of it. I took away a sense that he still thinks some of the older guys are trying to fit into his system, a system different from Charlie's admittedly. He emphasized that they work hard at this. No big deal, just a coach's perspective.
As for the USC player remarks; it says more about them than it does about the Irish. That's who they are, the kinds of people who have their band play loudly over an opponents band as they solemnly play their alma mater. The kinds of guys who don't just make a statement on the field, they have to make sure you know they have no respect for their opponents. in interviews after the game. Unsportsmanlike conduct-they've been cornering the market on it since Pete `the cheat's' arrival there. It'll take time for Pat Hayden to expunge this attitude from the culture, but he needs to mandate it. They're embarrassing as winners. As a school now infamous for cheating at sports, they need to reset the program and maybe devise and add a course in "Sports Conduct" at the school and make it mandatory for all athlete participants there.
As for the Irish; concentrate on playing football at your highest degree of ability. Coaches; do the same. Fans; likewise! GO IRISH!

What? Kelly was talking more about bad habits and desire of the tam attributed to the prior staff, you're projecting this whole 20 year nonsense. I also do not honestly think he was bashing Te'o, or Cave, or Hayseed, or Gray, or KLM, or Zack Martin who he has publicly praised in the past. But he made a general remark to the media that rubbed them the wrong way

The question is how the team reacts from this. Will they take it as a challenge? Will they rally as a team? Will they quit on Kelly?

That sucks to hear. Manti came to Notre Dame for all of the right reasons.

That being said, what are you gonna do, Manti? This team, your "bro's" that you say you play for, cannot afford for you to stand in the back during the game tomorrow. What makes players special is how they choose to handle adversity. You can either choose to sit back and be part of the problem or you can choose to play your effin' heart out. If you think Kelly is wrong, if you think the fans are wrong.... then prove it.

This team has been entitled since well before Weis, it is just coming to the forefront because Kelly is the first coach that is trying to address it. I never said he pointed out any player in particular and am well aware of what was said. So quit putting words in my mouth.

Again, what does "entitled" have to do with it. He was talking about breaking the bad habits of the players that were here before he got to ND.

Wooly can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe he is arguing that the perceived sense of entitlement of some players that were here before him is one of, if not the, bad habit BK is trying to break.
