Rumors going about that he is being shopped to the Eagles. Deal goes something like Manziel and picks to the Eagles and Bradford to the Browns.

Please let Chip Kelly be that stupid.............

I didn't see picks, I saw Bradford for Manziel...I wouldn't give them a first rounder for that, at all.

Manziel is dead weight, and likely always will be. Get whatever you can for him.

It would basically be a first rounder ( assuming) for Bradford... Is that correct? That's as insane as Manziel for Bradford straight up ( which I originally thought)... Or is the rumor that Cleveland would give up a late round pick?

Browns trade Manziel and #19 pick to Eagles for Bradford. Eagles trade their #20 pick and Browns #19 pick to get inside top 8 and draft Mariota.

According to the NFL Draft Value table...
Walters Football Site: NFL Draft Value Chart
...the #19 and #20 picks would net even the #5 pick. Of course the Eagles wouldn't make a trade like this until draft day because they want to be sure that Mariota is there.

That's just stupid, it's last year's first rounder and this years first rounder for Sam Bradford... Only the Browns.

You hate Johnny and didn't want the Browns to draft him. Why do you care if he is included?

I would def love to get rid of him, but again, if you're trading first round picks get something of first round value, Bradford has shown flashes but he's no longer of that high of value imo...

What are your thoughts on this?

From what I've heard Mariota will be the second pick taken. If true, Eagles are looking at someone else.

I hate it too.

Bradford isn't the answer and the Browns will be right back where they started. If you can't get a QB this year, fine. Don't draft one but draft the other positions. You don't want JFF......trade him for a 6th rounder or cut his ass.

Drafting rehab boy was a monumental mistake. Don't compound it by selling a first rounder for a QB that is injury prone.

I jumped on the Browns bandwagon last year when they drafted Manziel. Now not only do I feel like I've fallen off, but I feel like it keeps running me over.

Id prefer to see what we have with Manziel this year and then address it in next years draft if it's clear he isn't the answer. My concern with Bradford would be that he would be just below average. So he wouldn't be the answer but combined with our defense we would be average enough to never be able to draft a true #1 QB.

I like getting Bradford, and I love getting rid of punk ass... But I'm def don't like a first rounder being involved...

The other issue with Bradford is that he's a free agent after the 2015 season so even under the best case scenario (where he's healthy and productive) the Browns will only hang onto him by paying retail. Even a franchise tag is going to cost around $20 million in 2016.

As an Eagles fan, I have to disagree ....
:)

But yeah, the Browns would be stupid to ship away a first rounder to get an injury-prone Brandford. But let's be honest, they are going to pick someone who sucks anyway ... so why not give the pick to the Philly where it will do some good?

That isn't a bad plan IF the players would give him a fair shake. Based on Thomas' quotes, that doesn't seem likely.

Bradford would likely have a much better OL in Cleveland than he had with the Rams, but the fact that he is injury prone is a concern. Even with the OL, the question is if he has the supporting cast to move the ball. Manziel for Bradford is an upgrade, but I definitely wouldn't lose a 1st rounder over it. I'd look at other veterans first.

He's a douche who happens to be trying to improve his public image, but no, athletes using their status to improve the lives of others is never a douchey thing in and of itself.

I agree, but cynical old me thinks this was a forced move by his handlers to create some good PR, and the truth is this was more about refurbishing JFF's image than brightening the day of people he is visiting. Hope I'm wrong and he truly wanted to do this because it's a very kind thing to do. Some guys say and do all the right things only when a camera is around.
