My buddy's uncle was too... he swears he was sober and remembers it like it was yesterday lol
We didn’t know they were filming at halftime and my dad initially thought it was BC getting in some practice due to how bad they were playing. 😝

Probably a lot of Cover 2 Man for some extra help. The problem is that the front seven will probably need safety help too. Rylie Mills being out is so fucking huge.

Penn State was very good at outside zone. Apparently that's not Ohio State's offense. But it would be hard to watch the tape and think that Ohio State isn't seeing the same thing we are: run a lot of plays in 12 personnel, lean on the ND DL until ND plays Cover 1, and then let your WR corp do their thing.

With Rylie Mills and Ben Morrison, this game would be a rock fight. It still might be, but I'm not optimistic.
They ran tons of outside zone for huge plays against Oregon.

Penn state killed us with numerous variations of duo. Their OL played an exceptional overall game and their OL from what i have seen is more agile and athletic than OSUs.
They did a good job of washing out our stunts and games at the line. Their line played a near perfect first half, and the sets and formations were very creative to get the matchups they wanted.

All that being said, we still made the necessary adjustments at halftime and if we had tackled better on the perimeter early they would not have sustained as many drives. Shuler had a pretty bad day tackling for what we are used to seeing from him.

Something worth considering with just this matchup - Sawyer and JTT are undoubtedly talented, however neither is as twitchy as Abdul Carter or Dani Dennis-Sutton - both appear to me more power guys. Bc of this Baker may be able to hold up better than he did against PSU.

I also think the above is a benefit to Riley. He’s faster than both of those guys in the event he needs to scramble, wasn’t the case with Carter.

11 Warriors pod thinking OSU will blow ND out. PSU podcasts were saying ND stole their W against them and it was theirs for the taking. Frustrating analysis. Hoping ND hears this and comes out with hate and discontent on their minds.

Regardless, ND has to figure out how to run effectively on the Bucks from the start.

It is true that Penn State could’ve won that game. They didn’t. That sounds like a them problem.

As for Ohio State, do those guys remember barely beating us last year? Or Texas being on the 1 yard line to tie it in the closing minutes last week? Or losing to Michigan six weeks ago?

Ohio State’s good, sure. They’re not THAT good. And we’ve been underestimated all season, and that’s fine.

In the first half, we over pursued on many of their runs opening up the cutback for Singleton. He had a couple more in the second half, but Al adjusted and shut that down in the second half.

The PSU, USC and NIU games will probably be watched more by the OSU staff than the rest of our games.

As with every single game that has ever been played in the history of football…… it comes down to execution. And in close games it truly comes down to who executes best, last.

Under MF we have been executing. Under BK
