DANG...gotta get them brakes fixed
B.u.m.p
Power hour this week was more like power 1.5 hours... and Mike Frank spends about the first half an hour taking a hard look at ND's recruiting strategy and where it falls short. His opinion is informed and very interesting.
LAX, do we have to pay to listen to this? If not can you post a link, I would love to see what he has to say.

It's free, this is the link to it.
5 minutes in, don't need to hear anymore. They're borderline disgusted with our safety recruiting and recruiting of guys that we might need later on (LB that was committed to Michigan and now Tennessee). I agree with them.
Yeah they were talking for over half an hour about (our shoddy) recruiting strategy. I skipped ahead to 35 min in, that's where they get to reader questions, fyi.

So where does it fall short?
The main things were:
-Not keeping close enough tabs on kids throughout the process
-Cutting off contact with kids once we are close to getting a commit at their position
-BK not making direct contact with kids the way Meyer and Saban do
Essentially not working hard enough in recruiting or building strong enough personal bonds with kids.
Institutional things - not paying assistants. Said even if Denbrock's not worth 1 million dollars, how are you going to attract a big time coordinator if you're only paying denbrock .5 million and you fire him. Set some precedent that you're willing to invest.
*Hypothetical - Denbrock's not going anywhere.
What exactly is BK doing that he can't put the time in recruiting like Saban or Meyer?
