They said Alford needs to be working outside of just Florida. Alford should have been on Hilliard the whole time.

It's funny... They lock in top 10 recruiting classes every year and they are considered lazy.
I guess if they stopped being lazy they'd be #1 every year!

You laugh but that's literally the point these guys are making. And they are right.
There are some recruitments I think they did very poorly, but on the flip side there are several I think they absolutely nailed. Barajas, Jones, Taylor, Bilal, Coney and even Wimbush and Dexer Williams. Hit all the right cords with those kids, either eventually getting a switch out of them because of comfort / sell, or keeping them away from hometown powers.
I hope we can start to minimize the bad and learn from our misses, and keep maximizing what helps us get these big wins.
Having a top 10 class has more to do with ND being ND than the effort the coaches have put in.
Guess I'll have to have a listen. But man, getting a top 10 class year after year and being accused of being lazy doesn't make much sense to me. Especially when you factor in that a lot of these elite talent kids that everyone wishes we had aren't coming because of grades.
Best post on the day. Thanks Ironman
Are they getting the info on B Edwards and Y Ross directly from players? Seems overly negative even for ND

I know both those kids said they were very interested in ND at one point. I think we would have had a much better shot at Edwards if we went after him harder (i.e. BVG and BK made him a priority like they did Hilliard and a few others).
I know Ross told people he was feeling ND, but I never thought we would beat out USC for him once they got seriously involved, even if we put on the full court press.
One thing about Mike Frank is that he's not what I would consider pessamistic. If he's down on something and comes out and says it on Power Hour than it's legit, IMO. Was a member of his site for a bunch of years and think he does a great job. I personally think Kelly is outta here after this year, we'll see.
His quote about spending "the next three years" at southern cal tells you all you really need to know about how he feels about college.
Even if that is the case, he is leaving the cupboard pretty full for the next coach, and you bet your ass he is going to try his ass of to make sure we win as much as humanly possible next year to maximize his potential worth. If we are going to lose BK to the NFL, this is probably one of the best ways to lose him.
Just to point out that that doesn't matter, Sheldon Day only planned on being here 3 years. Just because someone wants to only be in college three years, doesn't mean that they aren't going to go to ND.
Can you provide the quote by Day? Ross' quote (and decision to commit to that program) suggests, at least to me, that he probably belongs at southern cal and not at ND (i.e. college is just a springboard to the NFL and he doesn't give a damn about education).
