I'm going to be slightly critical here. Those changes don't really have much to do with coaches moving so we they can recruit elite players on their side of the ball. Our best offensive weapons are not in the Midwest. Denbrock is moving so he is closer to the home base when the season starts. He's the OC now and can't be on the road as much. They are putting BVG down south to overlap with Booker and Alford because once again he won't be on the road as much. Lastly Heistand in the northeast to recruit elite OL when we expect our last OL to be Solomon when he isn't in the NE? I like the moves don't get me wrong but the reasoning doesn't make sense.

You are exactly correct. Denbrock is recruiting the Midwest now since he is the OC, just like the previous OC.

Chris Clark having work to do in the classroom at a place like Old Farms is absurd. People had been whispering that on this board and elsewhere for a week or so but I didn't really buy it. With Mike Frank saying it though...

I have no idea how that happens at a school that academically focused unless you just aren't trying. This is not some kid from the hood with a bad support structure who got lost in the shuffle. IMO, pretty large red flag relative to "fit" and how seriously he takes academics.

Paraphrase please, for the lazy?

Well Dee Ford used this quote to describe the way Clowney plays something to the effect of "playing like a blind dog in a butcher shop" and he gave credit to BVG because that's where he learned it from. Also he was doing an interview within the last two weeks where he gave a lot of credit to his improvement to BVG from the beginning even though the team was bad. He's a players coach.

Did we, as IE,stereotype a wealthy white kid by assuming he had good academics, haha

Dee Ford clarifies critique of Jadeveon Clowney - NFL.com

Ford said the phrase came from Notre Dame assistant coach Brian VanGorder, who coached Ford at Auburn in 2012.

"He told me that I had all the first-round ability in the world, but he said I rely on my athleticism, you know, rather than really (bringing) the technical aspects, the fundamental part of the game, watching film, to really become a great pass rusher," Ford said. "So therefore I'm a blind dog in a meat market. So that's one thing he used. When I see Jadeveon, that's what I see. He's 6-foot-6, 270 [pounds], 4.4 guy. He just plays. He can make plays like that, but at the end of the day, does that make you a great pass rusher or a better pass rusher than me? No."

Does this have anything to do with his transferring to Old Farms? Maybe he lost credits or the state requirements changed something on him?

Why can I never remember that movie? I have a couple of kids and a couple of friend that loved it; but until I saw that video, I couldn't remember that Vaughn and Stiller were in it!

So then there was not particular meaning to the whole statement, other than La Fleur was going to take over Cali?

Postscript : More my type of movie --- Goon

Goon is one of the funniest movies of all time, absolutely loved it

Had a son that was phonetically dyslexic. We found it early. Sixth grade. He spent two years working his ass off. Was on track by high school with a higher that average reading level all the way through. Only class he didn't do well at in high school was Physics. His teacher told him he passed it because he tried so hard.

The point is, we were lucky we found it as early as we did. The kid always worked hard. It just didn't work for him before we got that special help. It had nothing to do with being lazy, or privileged.

Good point Bogs and there could easily be a reason for Clark's grades we don't know about. Him and his family will probably have to address it at some point. Don't think I have the stomach for another Isiah McKenzie "working to get qualified" saga in 2015.. :)

By my count there have been at least three in the Kelly era. It is what you get when someone goes to the mat for players.

Sorry I didn't get this up sooner. They blocked all my ND access at work now.

First part is about the current board for skill players. These are guys ND feels they have a shot with.
Jamabo, Jacques Patrick, Dexter Williams, Kirk Merritt, Jalen Guyton, Ryan Newsome, Cordell Broadus, George Campbell, KJ Hill.
This is obviously subject to change and names will most definitely be removed and added.

Look for a few big body TEs to be offered soon as ND wants an inline blocker in this class.
John Reid and Shareef Miller will be on campus together March 29.
Hilliard enjoyed his trip to scUM. Probably will not visit either scUM or ND before the season but will take an official to both. One source is very confident Hilliard ends up Irish.

End is some notes on pro day. Nothing earth shattering.

Thanks for the info! Interesting stuff.

Yeah, we need that big-bodied TE who can block inline in this class, after getting Weishar and Luatua in 2014. Weishar is a TE/WR type, and Luatua, while he may prove to have a physical edge, doesn't have ideal size for an inline-blocking TE. I had heard that we were considering taking 3 TEs in 2014 because we weren't high on too many 2015 TEs, so it will be interesting to see who we target. Hopefully we will discover someone who has been under the radar.

(Also, bluehen ... don't apologize. If people want their Intel earlier they can get an ISD subscription. lol.)

Guy that surprised me on that list was Meritt, could be the best athlete in the country this year. Also I was surprised Ofidile was off the list.

They said it is a very early list. I think they will have a better idea of Ofidile's interest once he makes it to campus. They also said ND, along with a lot of other programs around the country, are much higher on Merritt than the recruiting sites.

In a perfect scenario, my dream take would be Jamabo, Merritt, Newsome, and ESB. Could sub out ESB for Strickland and I would still be ecstatic. I will feel really good about our chances with Newsome if he makes it to campus in the spring or summer. Same with Jamabo.

I like it and I'd throw in Humphrey Jr.

Completely agree. So far he sounds like an ND type kid, we just need to get him on campus soon.

WR recruiting is really going to be interesting this year. With a possible commit from Boykin in the summer, I feel like spots are going to fill up fast.

My personal hope is that our current WR corps is about to emerge as a real strength for us too. Guys like Brown, Amir, Daniels (obviously), Fuller, Hunter, Robinson and Brent all really excite me. If even half of those emerge to being big time players, then we need to be picky on the WR slots in this class.

What u talking bout? That a serious question guy.

Please don't call me, "guy"... that's... like... a rung below, "chief" or "pal".

I said it was trolling because when someone talks about a kids character be an "ND type of guy", that should be pretty self explanatory. Respectful, hard working, intelligent and with a focus on education.
