IUB was banned from IE. I don't know the story. As a mod you can read the list of Banned posters and while scrolling through the list one day I found IUB's name.

IUB'S was a frequent poster on other boards. I remember him as a mod on another board (IrishFans???) before IE. He was a knowledgeable poster ("because I said so, dammit") and didn't care to be questioned about a post of his (our jasonh from Cali got banned on GH for challenging a post of IUB's, jasonh was right). After IE, IUB moved to GH and became a mod/recruiting guy there.

Haha...you have no idea dude. I spent one LATE night talking him off a ledge because he swore IE was fucking up his computer and was allowing the police to spy on him. He threatened to fuck up a few posters who tried to tell him not to worry and that it wasn't IE. Luckily I was able to delete the thread before I had to ban him (knowing what the fall out would be among his many friends here), and we were able to hash things out through PM. Crazy night though.

Then, after several short bannings and several chances, when we finally had to ban him (with the blessings of all the mods and the admin), his friends were livid with us but they had no idea the amount of crap we had to put up with behind the scenes, and all the posts we had to delete because of him. Like always, I hope he is doing well now and he has found peace in his life...

For the record as a mod I read all the names in the Banned file, and IUB was listed there but with no explanation. Seems like it was back in '07 or '08 but that's a guess.

There's a space for the reason for banning and fpr the name of the mod issuing the ban. They weren't always filled in years ago. There could have been a ban during the Dark Ages by one mod that was lifted by another. There was one mod that axed quite a few people before he departed.

I haven't been a mod for a couple of years so I no longer have access to that file.
