46 voters and only 27 for The Beatles when you're allowed to pick ten? Y'all are some pretentious hipster-ass contrarians to leave The Beatles out of the all time top ten.
If anybody mentions
Rush,
John Von Joni,
Guns and Roses
Rush
Ozzie
White Snake
Metallica
please do us all a favor and ban yourself.
If you don't include Bruce Springsteen or Steve Winwood then you don't know music

I feel like this is biased towards older bands. Seriously no Maroon 5?
Davie Bowie is stupidly underrated by you guys.
I have a hard time thinking of Bowie as classic rock. He was more glam rock, progressive, or maybe just in his own category. Certainly not a classic rock act like Zeppelin or the Stones. Lots of great artists have been mentioned in this discussion that really don't fit into the classic rock genre.

No Pearl Jam...no vote.

44 of 70 now. My guess is that they didn't realize they could vote up to ten times.
I agree. Ramones, Clash, Metallica, Guns and Roses, Motely Crue, U2 definitely not classic rock.

I used up all ten of my votes before I got to the Beatles. I only really consider their mater stuff as classic rock. So their discography is limitef to 1966 -1970 when they broke up.
Here is an article supporting this claim
Classic Rock Started With The Beatles And Ended With Nirvana | FiveThirtyEight
The clasic rock radio format began in 1966 and ended in 1995 with a peak in 1977. I dont think the Bestles efforts duting this time period clasify it as a top 10 classic rock band. They are a superb pop rock band but not classic rock band IMO
I agree with this. When you think about it, most of The Beatles material isn't played on Classic Rock stations. You're talking about 3 albums from about '67 onwards that qualify, although some of those songs like "Hey Jude" will get a lot of play.

Saddened by the lack of votes for Sabbath.
The Who is one of the most overrated bands of all time, right up there with U2 and the Eagles.
Odd that someone smart enough to know the importance of Sabbath to the future of hard rock & metal wouldn't recognize The Who's same importance to the future of punk and alternative rock. I'd take the Zepplin catalog over both The Who and Sabbath but The Who's and Sabbath's DNA is much more apparent in modern music.
.
Sabbath, of course one of the most influential bands of all time, and crazy enough I dont consider them classic rock - they are more like Judas Priest as originators of heavy metal.
I don't think The Who had any influence on Minor Threat, The Misfits, Bad Brains, or any of the bands in the DC, NJ, or NY punk scene. More so the New York Dolls, and Ramones being more influencial in that area. The Who would have been waaaay too mainstream (everything that punks hated).

If we are talking classic rock then no Maroon 5.
hahahaha are you fucking serious?
I could never figure out why so many guitar players like Brian May.

The Who and The Eagles overrated? I hope your kidding but I didn't see italics! Come on man The Eagle overrated really?
*I just realized this a different poll*
I was never a fan of Queen, but I acknowledge they were one of the best bands of their time.

). It's yielded everything from the pirouetting, trebly solo in "Bohemian Rhapsody" to the proto-metal riffing of "Stone Cold Crazy." "I can listen to any player and pantomime their sound," Steve Vai said, "but I can't do Brian May. He's just walking on higher ground."
