Yes, I am getting married. Seems weird for me to say but we are "semi-eloping" in Vegas. I considering eloping when no one knows and it is sudden. Well ours is sudden but we will have guest. Her dad goes to Vegas on a regular basis for Texas Hold'em Tournaments. He was going out again, we heard and talked to eachother about finally tying th knot. We have been together for about 5 years, some long distance. It will be done in Planet Hollywood. I have never been to Vegas so this should be a great experience. Five days in Vegas. The sucky part is that we are getting married on October 1st, the Purdue game. I might have to miss it. I might try to bet on some games, never done it before so if anyone knows how it exactly works it will be appreciated.

Along with that, I am talking to a recruiter to get BACK into the military. Hopefully it can be combat, in particular Special Forces. Last time I was rejected because I have no depth perception. Alot of changes in the near future for me.

Which spec ops force are you interested in?

Combat Controller, it's not the "typical" known one but it is in the Air Force. My brother was in Special Forces in the Army and said he worked right next to them. It sounded good to me. If that does not work then possibly Pararescue.

Congrats on the big news! And good luck on trying to get into the spec ops. I respect anyway who has ever served our country, especially those bad mofos.

I'm familiar with them. I have a good buddy who fulfills a similar role in the Navy.

Good luck.

Haha, we will enjoy it as much as we can. Being in Vegas should be pretty fun.

I can not wait to see if I am accepted to Special Forces because the physical test is not that hard, in my eyes. It is all mental. From what my brother told me, though, in one of his trainings (because there are multiple ones) he was beat up and the trainers were able to break small bones.

Congratulations and condolences!

Welcome to same sex marriage.

As for reuppping, I thought the best part about being a veteran was that you didn't have to do that anymore.

Best wishes on both endeavors.

Be safe!

That is what I had thought too, but being under pressure it some of the most crucial situations is, well, exciting to me. Stuff in the civilian world does not compete, in my eyes.

I'll never make millions of dollars doing it, but I enjoy it. All that matters to me.

Understand you might miss seeing the PU game. Those chapels do operate 24 hrs a day. Game time is sacrosanct! Reserve a room with a DVR. (or hire a hooker to record it for you. Anything goes in Vegas.)

I didn't follow the sentence in bold. ND games. or "games" in Vegas, or what?

I had a missprint and meant to say "bet" but I meant on any games because it will be NFL too. Even just for a hundred or so, have to try my chances. I will be there from Thursday til Tuesday.

There ya go.

Arrive Thursday. Place bets. Go to Chapel, Tie the knot.
Friday Morning Finish Honeymoon. Friday Afternoon See Hoover Dam (rent limo and use back seat for last time)
Saturday with Honeymoon over (You're married now) watch game.
Saturday night sleep on couch.
Sunday Brunch for quality time then watch NFL games
Sunday night change sheets on couch
Monday reconciliation.
Tuesday fly home.

Haha, I really wish it was that easy. Her dad set it up for noon on Saturday because it is part of a package. That already puts it at 3:00 South Bend time. Her dad leaves at 4 on Saturday and wants to treat us for a fancy lunch after the wedding. So that would be during the game.

Now I have figured it out, I will just request a place with a TV. If they fall for it. Or I'll use the hooker and DVR method.

As a former SEAl myself, I can only wish you the best. They were some of the greatest years of my life, something I'd never replace, but I'd never do it again. I respect any man who puts his life on the line for his country, God Bless. HOOYAH!

Thank you, some say I am crazy but if it is something I would love to do. I can never regret it. No manner what I may go through.

That's great news! Congratulations!

My marriage advice for you though...

"To keep your marriage brimming,
with love in the loving cup,
whenever you're wrong, admit it,
whenever you're right, shut up."

Seriously though congratulations! I couldn't be happier for you.

Congratulations!

I was in the Navy for over 16 years and loved it. The first 4 years were kind of a b!tch, but I got used to the routine and started to exert myself more.

I wish you luck in your miltary career.
