This goes against everything we thought about freemanHe gone
Smoke starting to billow
If you're F'ing with us I'm going to be more mad at you than when I was fake mad at you because I thought you were someone else.

Plus NC State garbage timeBecause those stats factor in wins over Tennessee State, Navy, CMU and Pitt and the points average factors in ND’s special teams and defense putting up points or giving ND’s offense extremely short fields all season.
So your saying when Deland leaves they fill the roll with Tony Alford and make him OC… 🍿…that’s a bold move CottonNot messing, but I certainly wouldn’t position my post as fact. I’ll update to not give any false hope. Just seen a variety of sources completely change their tune on what is going to happen here. Pair this with something a source told me who has a 3 for 5 track record, it leads me to the below OPINION:
I don’t expect it to be a firing. It will probably be positioned as a changing of roles in game planning. There will almost certainly be at least one other offensive coach leaving this offseason which is where they will seek to fill the OC role. This goes entirely against how I thought Freeman would handle this even at the start of today.
what puzzles me is they have 3 guys on offensive staff who have been OC. Assuming they work well together, how can Rudolph, Gino & Parker still not find an offensive identity?Sounds like Gino might be calling plays from here on out?
I’m not sure I take that as a positive (overall). Is he auditioning for the job next year?Sounds like Gino might be calling plays from here on out?

With you here. I'm all for doing it for the next two games, but I want a legitimate off-season search.I’m not sure I take that as a positive (overall). Is he auditioning for the job next year?
I agree with this. But how do we reconcile this with people complaining that the receiver route concepts are bad and when we do run play action, that it doesn’t very closely mirror formations that we run out of.On paper or In the room, they might. But it's GP with the call sheet, reading what the D is doing. You can have the best writers in the world, but if the man on stage can't deliver the punchline, the joke falls flat.
I’m not an expert on Jr. but he looks to be so much different from his pops and Kiffy brings him everywhere he plants himself. Oh yeah and Ole Miss is 9-1. I would take him, but I’m wondering if he harbors ill will towards ND because how his dad was treated by ND community at the end of his time since the team was so bad, but he did grow up in ND StadiumI’ve had enough Weis for one lifetime. Don’t need snotnose Jr with a OC hc in kiffen.
I’ve heard he very much does.I’m not an expert on Jr. but he looks to be so much different from his pops and Kiffy brings him everywhere he plants himself. Oh yeah and Ole Miss is 9-1. Guys I’ll be honest, I think you call Charlie Jr. immediately and don’t think twice.
He’s young, hungry, has benefited from being with Kiff, and he, if anyone, gets ND.
What baggage and drama does the son have? His Father is old, very old. Not sure that Sr matters. His son scores a ton of points. His Dad would be really proud of him and I think it'd end at that. There is a fatal instinct among ND fans to only ever want to hire people with some connection to the program, or people that hit some emotional level in the fan psyche.
Weis Jr. brings baggage, drama, and a father with him that this program does not need right now.
Let’s see; supposedly competent QB check, depth at RB check, depth at TE and a good starter check, a good offensive line check, possibly deepest and best backfield in CFB check. Very average receivers but he bears some of that responsibility by not creating okays that make them better.Van Gorder was ruining a more talented unit.
Parker at least has genuine issues to scheme around.
Agreed. We won’t learn much of anything the next 2 games. The bowl game is a crapshoot b/c it could be a good matchup that challenges ND or a team who has key players opt out. The way this season has gone, I’m not very confident ND can finish w/ 10 wins. These next two games won’t tell us much about Gino I’d it’s him … the bowl game would if we win out and get someone good
He’s a good bit younger than sabanWhat baggage and drama does the son have? His Father is old, very old. Not sure that Sr matters. His son scores a ton of points. His Dad would be really proud of him and I think it'd end at that.
He’s definitely underperformed but I have a very hard time calling our offensive personnel a Ferrari. Our best receiver seems to be a freshman walk-on. Quite a bit of talent elsewhere, for sure.Let’s see; supposedly competent QB check, depth at RB check, depth at TE and a good starter check, a good offensive line check, possibly deepest and best backfield in CFB check. Hmm, a good D that gives you the ball and creates turnovers check. A coach who lets you do your thing check.
This dork got handed the karts to a Ferrari and gave us the Wayne Mobile form Wayne’s World. He got his chance and screwed the pooch. Time to hire a real OC with legit credentials not a pal.
I mean, he's older health wise than Saban I'm sure. But I just dont forsee Sr being an issue. Lot's of time has past, he loves ND, and he doesn't have the energy to be an issue IMOHe’s a good bit younger than saban
Might not be a Ferrari, but at a minimum it should be a c7 vette. He’s definitely underperformed but I have a very hard time calling our offensive personnel a Ferrari. Our best receiver seems to be a freshman walk-on. Quite a bit of talent elsewhere, for sure.
On second thought, I hope MF doesnt fire Parker till the season is over.
The worst thing that can happen is for GG to call plays against 2 crappy teams and get the permanent promotion.
ND needs to pony up for a proven Top 10 OC.
Peter Principle; Rise to the level of your incompetence. Rees first now Parker. Looks like Rees up in that booth. What a dope. I presume he gets paid out after getting canned. Probably enough money to live off of in the Midwest. Sadly he didn’t truly earn or deserve this shot. Them again neither did Marcus……Why are we promoting the coach that has apparently turned the ACC record breaking QB into Iowa bad?
