Hope we do the green with the white pants we see in all the recruit photos, probably wanted to save that for FSU before the season

lol he was doing the same cheerleader schtick for 3 weeks at Georgia Tech games
He's been to South Bend a number of times though, pretty sure BK first brought him in and he's been back for Freeman. I think he genuinely loves Notre Dame based on interviews and how often he's repped them in the past.

Yeah, I talked about paid spots for Guinness and I know he's been paid to speak to the team before too, but he's repped the Irish other times on social media and when he's out and about. That's why I have a feeling he genuinely likes the team/university. I think he's more than a spokesperson, I see him as a fan for that reason.

Winning a playoff game
Which no current high school seniors are going to be able to help with until next season.

They have verbals to meet their needs at RB, TE, OL, DE, DT and DB. They have to flip a QB and another receiver (or two?). Another LB and perhaps a second TE are on the table as well.

This can all be done by December or February while the current squad manages to make the playoff and win a game. I can't sugarcoat some of the setbacks, but can't help anyone in terms of hurt feelings about the optics of rankings. Fill the remaining gaps and move on after the season is over into spring. Hopefully they're digging in deeper and laying more groundwork with the 2026 kids. Having the QB verballed helps a lot provided he intends to help them try to sway other guys.

Take a look at Florida, FSU Clemson right now in terms of their recruiting classes. Not to mention none of them are winning a playoff game any time soon.

It's been thrown out in a number of threads about the increase to the scholarship limit to 105.

Just curious on everyone's thoughts.

While I certainly think that there will be some increase in scholarships, I just don't see most schools amping up the scholarships very much. It has nothing to do with money. I just don't see coaches wanting to spread out the limited number of reps in practice amongst even more players. Also just another kid that you have to try to keep motivated and engaged.

Oh I think most P4 schools, at least, will do it, just because they can. Why not stockpile more talent and depth? If you add another five kids to your recruiting class, maybe one or two of them hit.

But ultimately yeah it’ll just mean even more players hitting the portal every year. And as you say, I doubt many actual coaches were clamoring for another 20 scholarship players to manage.

Agreed. It's one more pain in the ass when it comes to managing people and having to deal with recruiting your own guys to keep them out of the portal. I'm sure some schools are going to oversign and load up regardless, but those will be exceptions versus the rule. The cushion of going from 85 to 105 is obviously convenient, though, so you won't have to worry about guys wanting to stick around and maybe bringing in a group of 30 guys versus only 25 if you need to fill up the two deep.

Anyone that isn't already considering jumping ship to the NFL isn't going to want to have their position room any fuller than it has to be, otherwise it's bone for tuna and off to The Shield to leave the headaches behind.

I agree with you. They make take 5 more or so of those fringe guys. If the coaches take much more than that the player management is going to be a nightmare. They will have to hire 3-5 more people just to deal
With that.

On offense, sure. But the offense can/should get better and if they do we probably win every game left on the schedule and go 11-1 which is what we all hoped for in August.

Leonard was advertised to be as good as Hartman was advertised, both not as good as advertised.
