Anyone hear anything on who we're going to fill the gap in the 2024 schedule with? Alraedy have NIU, Miami OH, and Navy, so would hope its a team with a pulse. None of A&M, USC, or FSU are locks to even be top 15 teams.

I saw we currently have an open date the week before Thanksgiving, AKA the SEC's tuneup week. Maybe, I dunno, LSU would sack up and come north...

Please at least let it be a Power 5 (4?) team. After A&M, the schedule is going to be boring as hell until late in the season.

Yeah a couple months ago Prister talked about an army game at Yankee stadium for next year being confirmed, and it was confusing at the time since we were sitting on 12 games already.
We're already playing Navy at the Meadowlands. Let's do Washington instead.

We’ve already got Southern Cal, UCLA, Alabama, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina, A&M, Florida, and Arkansas slated for 2024. “Sack up?” Don’t blame us because ND filled its schedule with a steaming pile dog shit. Cypress Lakes High has a tougher schedule than ND in ‘24…

LSU has a pretty tough slate for 2023 as well!

I think 13 is fair - coaching staff is unproven and we have a tough schedule. Easy to say we lose a game we shouldn't with three games that are easy to mark as losses as well. 9-3 with a WTF to NCST or Pitt for example and 1-2 against OSU/USC/Clemson is probably what most voters have us marked down for. Vegas has over 9.5 wins paying +190 so oddsmakers seem to agree.

I am banking 100% of my optimism on Hartman. Two NFL first round tackles, experienced center and plethora of talent to pull a couple guards from with Hartman under center and I almost don't care who the ball carriers are. I am trusting Hartman to make the WRs, TEs and RBs look better and the OL gives everyone time and space to work. Estime is a proven stud - lots of question marks everywhere else but you can't tell me our talent is lower than Wake Forest.

I have felt forever that our WR are perpetually underrated b/c the QBs just weren't that great. I will be horribly disappointed if we can't turn any of our WR in to NFL draft picks between Thomas, Colzie, Merriweather and Greathouse. I'm not buying Tyree hype and it especially worries me that I'm hearing Salerno's name as working his way into the WR rotation. Good for him but that tells me the higher ceiling guys might not be panning out.

Defense is another story - I think this is a great year to have four less challenging offenses before a big game from the defensive side more than anything.

I don't know. Book had no trouble hitting Claypool, he was Ian's favorite target. The next season it was a struggle with McKinley, AD, and Sko as the starters and it took time for those guys to emerge as it was. That trio made some big plays at times, but they weren't world beaters. The next year Coan found Austin and Lenzy quite a bit, but a lot of drops happened and both struggled in tight coverage. Styles came on late, then disappeared last year for various reasons after the first few games. I think we saw the WRs step up sometime after game 4 or 5, hopefully that was a result of Stuckey's work.

Bottom line, there shouldn't be any excuses this year in getting the ball to WRs. We have the QB, we have the OL, we have a good running game, it should open up the passes. If Hartman can't get them the ball then it's on the receivers. Fortunately there's some young blood that will push the upperclassmen I think. Greathouse and Rico look like studs.
