The French resistance played an integral part in the Western Front.

They could have played a bigger part on the Western Front by...you know...not getting their asses kicked.

Those silly French getting steamrolled by a groundbreaking offensive strategy that no one on Earth knew how to stop in 1940. Pussies!

you have to remember too that at the time of the German invasion France was not a united fighting force. There were some who rathered Hitler over a Socialist Government.

... and don't forget how the Gauls (current day French, Belgians and Northern Italians) got their arses handed to them in the Punic Wars.

Let's cut to the chase. The french knew Hitler was cooking something up, yet didn't prepare themselves and rolled over like a lap dog wanting his tummy rubbed. The French Resistance was made up of the small minority of Frenchmen that had a backbone. If the majority of Frenchmen had been like the resistance the war may not have lasted as long.

Chase being cut to: The French were not alone. There was the (woefully ineffective) Maginot Line. The Russians were initially allied with, or at least tolerant of, Hitler in an effort to cool his jets and save their asses.

Then there was Sudetenland, Poland, Czechoslovakia, etc.

Hell, the good ol' US of A stayed out of the fray for a long time. There was too much money to be made plying the weapons trade to both sides.

The bolded will always be one of history's greatest "what ifs." If Hitler had not been so bullish about going after the Russians, what would have happened with the war. Had he concentrated everything on taking down Britain, he very well could have won the west.

Not a thread bumper, specially not QBs. But damn, if this guy doesn't play at QB I really hope he can find a way to impact the team on the field. Hes a warrior.

He's a warrior because he posted a video of himself working out with background music? :)

I'm rooting for Malik, he's been a great teammate and he's been dealt adversity but I'm also rooting for Kizer. It's a strange position to not be firmly in either camp. I believe Kizer is the better pure passer and I think his skill set gives BK more of what he's after but I believe Malik can get it done.

Malik gives us a Meyer-type QB which is never a bad thing. In fact, that's a great compliment but it just so happens that Kizer is really good as well.

Can't wait to see who leads us this season.

I just hope the backup embraces the role and stays put... if recent ND history is anything to go by the winner of the QB battle will miss some playing time somewhere, we will almost certainly need both of these guys at some point.

It is awful knowing either Malik or Kizer is going to have to sit most of the season. And then Wimbush will we ever get to see him play a full season?

I think the back up will play more than a lot of people think. You don't let a talent like Kizer or Zaire sit. And Wimbush just has to wait his turn, it'll come.

This is exactly how I feel. And then I worry about transfers......but on the other hand we KNOW we will have great play from our qb's, we'll score points, and if injuries occur we won't all have a collective heart attack the way we did last year when Zaire went down as we KNOW our bench is more than capable.

True, but if I remember correctly those countries weren't equipped to really do something. Poland at least was somewhat defiant and fought the brave fight even if it was quick.

Is that Max out front leading the team in pushups starting at the :07 mark? Do they usually have the captains out front for these things?

Best guess would be its more an indication of who stepped up to the plate to be a leader during this particular workout on this particular day then a direct correlation to named team captain duties. But who knows, good to see Max taking a leadership role and hopefully owning up to his responsibilities as a multi-year starter and upperclassmen.

Yessir. My thoughts exactly. I look at Max as one of our top athletes. He just lost his head out there at his position which is a very difficult position with responsibilities that are absolutely CRUCIAL. I expect him to step into Farley's role as a leader but in a more substantial role positionally as our starting FS, seeing Farley wasn't always a starter and played primarily Nickel. Let's go Max!!
