Yeah me too... When I drop her off for orientation in Aug of '22.

.

She will be in my daughter's class! Well the good thing is that they can rely on my next oldest daughter, she will be a Junior by then (hs '20). And of course my son will have them introduce him to all of their friends. He is a quick study, and a member of the class of (hs '24!)

We were only 4 points away from being undefeated and ranked #1....

So my takeaway from that is, we had plenty of talent and poor execution.

Don't know where to put this so figured this thread would work. Does anyone have experience with the ND football camps? I was thinking specifically of the developmental camp for my cousin. He is about to enter the 9th grade and has played on the jr high team but does not have much playing experience. Thought it could be fun and teach him a few things and was wondering if anyone has had family or friends attend and could offer some thoughts?

Most analytical models chalk TO Margin up to luck. But the only year where TO margin hasn't absolutely crushed us was 2012. Hard to dismiss 4/5 seasons as anything but a trend.

Don't most models calculate points gained by the team after recovering a turnover? If you only give us an average of 3 points for a redzone turnover (not to mention the ridiculous amount inside the 5) that -31 probably gets a lot bigger.

It all boils down to a bittersweet, "what-if" season. Unlike 2012 - there are no all world teams out there and I would give us a >25% chance of winning if we made the playoffs. Gotta get in to win though.

I would take away from this that we need to create more turnovers. We had plenty of games where we really took care of the ball but others where it was awful.

Others don't which is fine, but I think there's a correlation between our defense's inability to force fumbles and our offense's tendency to fumble. I think those habbits begin in practice.

FEI calculates TO value based on where it occurs. So that's all included.

Watching the way BC went after the ball (the way my Bears used to) compared to how ND made no effort at all was bothersome. I agree. I think it's either something that's practiced and implemented, or it's not.

I remain steadfast in my contention that Brian Kelly is an elite coach, and that history will judge his tenure favorably. But I haven't been pleased with his DCs over the last three seasons.

Looks like ND played 5 out of 12 games against top 25 teams and they will play another in the bowl game.

We played 3 of those 7 teams. Do we just play well coached teams or do we make their coaches look good?
